Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart Debut on SmackDown

Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox SmackDown Debut

On this week’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart made their surprise debuts for the brand. They challenged the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya and Tamina on their very first night and pulled off the upset. Nox and Blackheart should have a title match in their future. These two will be a team moving forward according to Michael Cole on commentary.

Both Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart were among the fan favorites while in NXT, being two key members of their star-studded women’s division.

Nox made her return to the black and gold brand this past Tuesday night, costing Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell their NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. She had been recovering from a torn ACL. She made her debut for WWE as part of the second Mae Young Classic and was on her way to winning it before injuring her knee in a match with current Raw Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley.

Blackheart is a former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside teammate Ember Moon earlier this year. She signed with the company back in 2019. Her other accolades include being on the live EVOLVE show that was aired on the WWE Network and captained her own WarGames team as well.

Their editions to the blue brand were long overdue as they should become key players for the brand moving forward, especially following the injury of Bayley.
