BREAKING: New SHIMMER Tag Team Champions Crowned

At today’s SHIMMER 96 event in Chicago, the team of Leva Bates and Delilah Doom ended the year long reign of Mount Tessa, the duo of Tessa Blanchard and Vanessa Kraven, as SHIMMER Tag Team Champions. According to reports, following the match, Mount Tessa disbanded.

Leva Bates is one of the indies top women’s wrestlers, whose cosplay at each event is a thing of legend. She is also known by some for her cult following as Blue Pants in NXT from 2014 through 2015, as well as a few appearances with Impact Wrestling on several One Night Only PPVs. Delilah Doom is a rising women’s star on the indie scene, who has appeared twice for the WWE in the past year. She appeared on Raw last year as Rachel Levy as one of the victims of a debuting Nia Jax, as well as Delilah Dawson on Smackdown Live this year in a losing effort against Carmella.

With Tessa dropping the tag titles after a 365 day reign, many will undoubtedly start the “bound for WWE” rumours, as her boyfriend Ricochet is also rumoured to be heading to Orlando to start with NXT in January of 2018. Blanchard still holds two WrestleCircus titles, the Sideshow and Lady of the Circus championships, and is currently still the reigning Exodus Wrestling Alliance (EWA) Florida Heavyweight Champion at 933 days. Blanchard, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer and Four Horseman Tully Blanchard, has appeared in one-offs for NXT since last year, including appearing in this summer’s Mae Young Classic.
