WrestleMania Backlash Predictions and Analysis
WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman
“The All Mighty” WWE Champion Bobby Lashley was expected to defend his championship against Drew McIntyre once again at WrestleMania Backlash when the challenger defeated Braun Strowman and Randy Orton in a triple threat match. Strowman, however, made a reasonable statement to WWE official Adam Pearce that he was not the man that was pinned in that match and earned a second opportunity at getting into the match. All he had to do was defeated McIntyre in singles action. Thanks to T-Bar and Mace, that was able to happen and left Lashley with two challengers for the show. While the build has been nothing to get you out of your seat for, these three are going to have a physical match worthy of your time. This should be a blast.
Prediction: Bobby Lashley
SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley
After pretty much missing WrestleMania, Bayley is back in the title picture as she will be the first challenger for Bianca Belair. Their feud goes back to 2020, where Bayley was trying to show the world that Belair was nothing near being “The EST” of anything and that she was simply the best. Well since that initial feud, Belair has won the Royal Rumble and main evented WrestleMania, winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Sasha Banks — the woman who had defeated Bayley for that title. “The Role Model” is done waiting and will be on a run to try and show the world that Belair is not ready for the spotlight just yet. Time will tell if that is the case as this is a massive first test for Belair.
Prediction: Bianca Belair
Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cesaro
Daniel Bryan banished. Jimmy Uso at odds. And a man earning his first-ever singles world championship match in his WWE career. There’s a lot going on here in the story of Roman Reigns vs. Cesaro. “The Swiss Superman” has done everything in his power to get to this opportunity and earned it on SmackDown when he defeated Seth Rollins in singles action. That win can be credited to The Usos, who are supposed to be on the side of Reigns but ultimately hurt him in the end. “The Tribal Chief” has a lot going on now, which makes this the perfect chance for Cesaro to pull off the upset. Not only is this match going to be the best of the night, but has all the makings of being WWE’s potential match of the year. Reigns and Cesaro are going to put on a show.
Prediction: Roman Reigns
