IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann vs. TNA World Champion Moose – Winner Takes All
IMPACT Vice President Scott D’Amore raised the stakes higher than they could ever be this past Tuesday on IMPACT. Following a confrontation between IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann and TNA World Heavyweight Champion Moose, D’Amore announced that the main event of Sacrifice would unify the TNA and IMPACT World Championships once and for all. While the IMPACT World Championship has been sanctioned since 2017, the TNA World Championship was re-sanctioned by D’Amore a few weeks ago after a four-year hiatus.
However, perhaps the most important stipulation D’Amore added to this match is that the winner will defend their unified world championship against AEW World Champion Kenny Omega at next month’s Rebellion pay-per-view in a title versus title match. This would be the biggest match of either Swann’s or Moose’s career, meaning that both men are sure to step up their game in this main event match.
This will be the first match between these two competitors, despite their rivalry reaching several months. These men have teamed against each other but have also teamed alongside one another. However, Moose has always made it clear that he has one goal in mind, and he won’t be satisfied until he defeats Rich Swann for his IMPACT World Championship. Moose will be hyper-focused and at his meanest and most powerful Saturday night. Rich Swann will have to rely on his speed to overcome his colossal opponent. Both men know that they are not only fighting to be the undisputed world champion of IMPACT Wrestling, but also for the chance to fight for the AEW World Championship. There is absolutely no telling what they will put each other through.
IMPACT X Division Championship – TJP (c) vs. Ace Austin
Ace Austin finally gets his match for TJP’s X-Division Championship after months of jumping through hoops. Austin was the winner of the 2021 Super-X Cup Tournament, starting the year off as the top X-Division star in the company. However, he did not receive his championship match and instead was forced to endure fatal four ways and a triple threat revolver match, being forced to stand behind Josh Alexander for a shot at the title. Finally, he was able to earn the No. 1 contendership in the eyes of the company when he defeated Black Taurus and Chris Bey two weeks ago on IMPACT.
On this past week’s episode of IMPACT, Josh Alexander approached TJP concerning his apathetic approach towards defending the title. While he has been able to successfully defend against Rohit Raju and Alexander, TJP may very well be underestimating Austin. This will be a high-flying masterpiece, truly of the standards that have made the X-Division one of the strongest in IMPACT history.
IMPACT Knockouts Championship – Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. ODB
Deonna Purrazzo has been one of the most dominant champions to ever step into the IMPACT Zone since debuting last spring. She has defeated a wide variety of challengers, including Jordynne Grace and the longest-reigning Knockouts Champion in history, Taya Valkyrie. However, she has yet to meet someone as unpredictable and rambunctious as the crass ODB. While ODB may arguably be past her prime, she still has an energy and passion about her that makes her the beloved dark horse.
ODB challenged Purrazzo to a match in response to her and her cronies Susan and Kimber Lee frequently attacking Jordynne Grace and Jazz. While the latter team will be challenging for the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championships on the same night, ODB gets not only a chance at redemption but possibly the biggest opportunity in her illustrious career. While ODB is a former four-time knockouts champion herself, she now gets the opportunity to prove that she still has a lot left in the tank. This clash of styles is sure to be exciting, though it will be interesting to see if ODB is able to catch lightning in a bottle and dethrone “The Virtuosa” on the greatest run of her career.
IMPACT Wrestling Sacrifice card airs tonight at 8 p.m. on IMPACT Plus and Fite TV.
