Sad news for fans of the US indies in the Midwest, as longtime veteran Mississippi Madman, known to family and friends as Don Jackson, passed away on Monday after a lengthy illness. No details were released on his cause of death.
It is with deep sadness that we inform the SCWPro fans of the passing of former SCW Champion, Mississippi Madman, known to friends & family as Don Jackson.
A giant in our world, his large frame was only matched by the size of his kind heart. He will be greatly missed. #RIPMadman pic.twitter.com/dwrzxBQpAZ

Don Jackson began wrestling in the early 2000s and soon became a regular with SCW Pro (then Scott County Wrestling) in Davenport, Iowa, where he became a SCW Heavyweight Champion. Over the next 15 years, Madman became a staple in the Midwest scene, working for the likes of AAW Pro, IWA Mid-South, New Midwest Wrestling (NMW), Pro Wrestling Epic (PWE), All American Pro Wrestling (AAPW), and ZERO1 USA, establishing himself as a fan favorite in the Illinois wrestling circuit. The Mississippi Madman took ill in early 2019 and seemingly never recovered. He entered hospital recently and sadly passed away on Monday night. As well as being a former SCW Heavyweight Champion, he was also a former PWE Champion (for 300 days) and AAPW Heavyweight Champion.
Last Word on Pro Wrestling sends its condolences to Don Jackson’s family, friends, and fans during this time.

I remember when we tried to turn you heel so we had you attack one of our most popular baby faces Tank Roberts and the fans still wouldn’t boo you. You were that over. I know you’ll be just as over in Heaven.
Rest In Peace my friend!
