On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Nightmare Family members Lee Johnson and Cody Rhodes teamed up to take on the duo of Cezar Bononi and “Pretty” Peter Avalon. Surprisingly, it was the young Johnson that picked up the win for his team, catching Avalon with a schoolboy. With this, Johnson scored his first-ever victory on the show. Post-match, Johnson was congratulated by other members of the Nightmare Family. Tony Schiavone also interviewed Johnson, who was at a loss for words, emotional over his victory.
The night wasn’t quite over for Lee Johnson, however. Later on, AEW founder Tony Khan took to Twitter to make a special announcement. Khan commended Johnson on his hard work, particularly during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic when independent talent was frequently brought in. Khan also said that Johnson in AEW was now official. Simply put, Lee Johnson is All Elite.

Prior to his success in All Elite Wrestling, Lee Johnson trained under the eye of AR Fox and current AEW star, and fellow Nightmare Family member, QT Marshall. Johnson began his wrestling career working for World Wrestling Alliance 4, though he would eventually branch out into other organizations including IWA Mid-South. Johnson would go on to find exposure in promotions such as Southern Underground Pro and Southern Honor Wrestling. Following the pandemic, Johnson made his first appearance for AEW in April of 2020. From there, the rest was history.
Johnson would go on to work multiple matches for AEW DARK and Dynamite, wrestling such opponents as Wardlow, MJF, Colt Cabana, and Rey Fenix. Following weeks of hard work, Johnson was officially announced as a member of the Nightmare Family, which allowed him to learn under the Rhodes brothers, Arn Anderson, and others. Most recently, Johnson was seen working primarily on DARK in tag team matches alongside Aaron Solow.
