WWE Hell in a Cell Predictions(10/30/16)

Ahead of WWE’s Monday Night RAW Hell in a Cell PPV, the Last Word On Pro Wrestling team makes predictions and shares their thoughts before the event.

Bayley vs. Dana Brooke
Winner: Sean Garmer, Rich Laconi Robby Hinson, Jamie Greer: Bayley

Thoughts by Sean Garmer:

I feel that this feud was a great idea, but poorly executed. They nailed the one backstage segment on RAW where Bayley knocked Dana out, in retaliation for a previous scuffle between both ladies. Dana has the character part down, but between the dumb arm wrestling segment and her matches. I’m kind of just ready for Bayley to move on. I expect Sasha to retain, so Bayley will be her next challenger with a win here.

Sin Cara, Cedric Alexander & Lince Dorado vs. Drew Gulak, Tony Nese & Davari

Winners: Jamie Greer, Robby Hinson: Gulak, Nese & Davari
Rich Laconi: Sin Cara, Cedric Alexander & Lince Dorado

Thoughts by Jamie Greer:

Apart from Gulak and Nese, these pairings make no sense at all. At least Nese and Gulak have some storyline going on and some character development, so I’d expect their team to take the win to keep their momentum going.

WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick

Winner: Rich Laconi: T.J. Perkins
Robby Hinson, Ryan Smith, Jamie Greer: Brian Kendrick

Thoughts by Ryan Smith:

I might be alone in this, but I think they’re going to put the belt on Brian Kendrick. He’s a bit of wildcard, and so far has been more interesting as a character than T.J. Perkins. They can stretch this feud a bit longer, or they can move on to Rich Swann vs. Brian Kendrick. The most charismatic man in the world does already own a pinfall win over Kendrick.

Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson
Winner: Jame Greer, Robby Hinson, Ryan Smith, Rich Laconi : Gallows & Anderson

Thoughts by Robby Hinson:

It’s hard to really identify a winner here because both teams need a signature win. Gallows & Anderson were once treated as a comedy duo recently and have gotten back to the no-nonsense attitude that they should’ve been displaying from the start. Best case scenario here is Gallows & Anderson going over by cheating somehow.

Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. Cesaro & Sheamus

Winner: Jamie Greer: Cesaro & Sheamus
Robby Hinson, Ryan Smith, Rich Laconi: New Day

Thoughts by Jamie Greer:

New Day are long past the point of needing belts to be over. It would be do all three men involved an extra nudge to start going for singles belts within the faction, and it would be a far greater storyline dynamic seeing the Tag Champs not on the same page again (remember how much fun Team Hell No turned into?)

Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Flair (Hell in a Cell Match)

Winner: Jamie Greer, Robby Hinson, Ryan Smith: Sasha Banks
Rich Laconi: Charlotte Flair

Thoughts by Robby Hinson:

This match is monumental in many ways and I just hope it lives up to what seems like lofty expectations in fear that WWE will reverse course on including women in the main event picture. That being said, I expect the women to pull out all the stops, using the cage and some weapons throughout the match. In the end, Sasha pins Charlotte as I don’t think Charlotte can absorb another submission loss just yet.

WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins (Hell in a Cell Match)

Winner: Jamie Greer: Seth Rollins
Robby Hinson, Ryan Smith, Rich Laconi: Kevin Owens

Thoughts by Ryan Smith:

Kevin Owens should be holding on to this belt for just a little bit longer. Personally, this sportswriter believes it will be Finn Balor that wins the Royal Rumble and takes his belt from Owens at WrestleMania. The obvious plot twist here is that Triple H finally gets involved, costing Rollins the match. That, or Chris Jericho finds a way inside the ring and helps Kevin win. If the latter is true, then on Monday Night, we’ll probably see Jericho finally move into the title picture.

United States Champion Roman Reigns vs. Rusev (Hell in a Cell Match)

Winner: Jamie Greer, Ryan Smith, Robby Hinson, Rich Laconi: Roman Reigns
Thoughts by Sean Garmer:

I still don’t understand at all how someone is supposed to cheer for Roman Reigns. He has been an absolute jerk in this feud. He’s The Rock with no charisma. It doesn’t work without that. However, Roman should get a long run with this belt and as much as Roman has dominated this feud, it would be dumb for him to lose here. This should be a good match, as both men excel in big matches. The Guy retains.

Thanks for joining us and keep your eye out this week for fallout from the event.
