ECWA Super 8 Winner is A Very Good Professional Wrestler

A Very Good Professional Wrestler

The East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA) recently held the 24th incarnation of it’s Super 8 tournament. This is the longest-running tournament still on the independent scene, having debuted in 1997. It’s also featured many indie darlings and rising stars along the way. Past winners include Ace Darling, Christopher Daniels, Low-Ki, Tommaso Ciampa, Richard Holliday, and Lance Anoa’i

2020’s field of competitors included KTB, hardcore icon Matt Tremont, Chris Rockwell, current ECWA Legacy Champion Eric Martin, Vinny Pacifico, Archadia, and former CHIKARA mainstays, Devantes and A Very Good Professional Wrestler. Previously in his career, A Very Good Professional Wrestler had been known as the affable Dasher Hatfield. In the seasons before CHIKARA’s unexpected demise, he re-invented himself as a heel and carried the torch as Grand Champion.

A Very Good Professional Wrestler even feuded with his storyline son, Boomer Hatfield, and lost his mask in the process. Over the period since COVID-19 shut the world down for a while and CHIKARA’s unexpected closure due to the Speaking Out movement, the former Dasher Hatfield has taken the time to christen himself A Very Good Professional Wrestler. Since independent wrestling has returned to some degree, he’s challenged WARHORSE for the Independent Wrestling.TV Championship at Black Label Pro. During the tournament, the Workhorse ran the gauntlet, defeating Martin, Archadia, and KTB. Now A Very Good Professional Wrestler has added the ECWA Super 8 trophy to his resume.

Following winning the trophy, A Very Good Professional Wrestler decided to share the news of where to see him next. Fresh off this big win, he’s headed to New South Pro Wrestling on November 11th to face the very best wrestler they have to offer. He also appears to be interested in a showdown with Eric Martin over the ECWA Legacy Championship. We will be keeping close tabs to see where else the newly minted Super 8 winner will be taking his trophy next.
