When The Collective was cancelled earlier this year fans were left to lament the many matches that we wouldn’t get to see. Especially when it came to the stacked Joey Janela’s Spring Break 4: Spring Break Forever event. With The Collective recently rescheduling a number of dates we have seen shows like Spring Break rescheduled but with very little hope of the card being the same. Luckily for fans one match from Spring Break 4 was salvaged as it was announced that Alex Shelley will take on Tony Deppen at the rescheduled event.
The scenario is much different now than it was back then. When first announced this match was Shelley continuing his comeback by taking on a top indie talent. Now though Shelley goes into this match after making his return to his long time home of IMPACT Wrestling where he reformed the Motor City Machine Guns and captured the tag team titles, instantly making himself one of the most exciting names in the US.
Deppen is still the same Deppen, he has remained one of the top names in the US indie scene and is actually set to wrestle for Ring Of Honor in their Pure Wrestling tournament as he takes on his biggest challenge to date. When this match was announced months ago fans were excited but since then both men have only raised their stock in independent wrestling and this is easily one of the headline matches for The Collective and a fantastic first match for Spring Break 4.
