Victory Through Guts: A Joshi Podcast is a podcast from two of our contributors Alex Richards and Dylan Murray as they take a journey through All Japan Women’s Pro Wrestling (AJW).  For episode 6 they review AJW Classic episode 42 and review the JWP Best Of 1990

Victory Through Guts – A Joshi Podcast returns as Alex and Dylan dive into the world of classic Joshi once again with both All Japan Women’s Pro Wrestling and Joshi Wrestling Project (JWP) both represented.  This episode features:

  • AJW Classic Episode 42 partial review
  • Discussion of Aja Kong vs Bull Nakano in a cage match
  • The retirement of Mitsuko Nishiwaki
  • A review of the JWP Best Of 1990 release which featured the top three singles matches of JWP
  • JWP matches reviewed featured names like Devil MasamiDynamite Kansai (as Miss A), Shinobu Kandori, and Mayumi Ozaki among others

“In the sixth episode of the VTG Podcast, Dylan & Alex talk about Aja Kong vs Bull Nakano in a Saitama Cage Match, Mitsuko Nishiwaki’s retirement match against fellow Fire Jet Yumiko Hotta, and the forgotten member of the Class of ’85, Grizzly Iwamoto. After that, two JWP offerings came from the “Best Singles Matches of JWP 1990″ that Dylan searched the internet to find last minute to complete this episode. With competitors like Miss A (Dynamite Kansai), Mayumi Ozaki and Devil Masami, these matches personified the JWP style of the time, a topic our hosts talked in detail about near the end of the show. Please Enjoy!
