Months after the devastating announcement that the Collective would have to postpone their WrestleMania Week events, good news has arrived. On Friday night, the Collective announced they had rescheduled their events for October, where fans will be allowed to attend in accordance with guidelines and social distancing rules.
There were more than a few heartbroken wrestling fans, promoters, and wrestlers themselves, when Game Changer Wrestling and its fellow promotions, were forced to postpone the Collective that was planned for WrestleMania Week. It was a suffocating blow and one that potentially had negative repercussions. But the folks behind the event weren’t giving up and in their March 16th announcement, made sure to use the word ‘postponed’ and not ‘canceled.’

“The Collective and all its partners are determined to see this through to the finish line,” the statement read. “*When* The Collective happens, it will be authentic and true, and take place in front of real fans. You will get everything you expect from the Collective, from the heart, because that’s what you deserve. Thank you for believing in us, because we believe in you, and we believe in INDEPENDENT wrestling.”
Thanks to fan support, patience, and faith winning out, the Collective will indeed be back and is set to fulfill all of the promises they made to fans back in March. Set for October 9-11th at the Coliseum at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Collective will take place in a way that prioritizes health and safety of the fans. As other promotions have done, the Collective will have hand sanitizer stations throughout the grounds, enforce social distancing, mask-wearing and capacity limits. The Coliseum ordinarily seats 2,000 and will be scaled to just 25 percent capacity meaning no more than 500 fans will be allowed in attendance for each event.

The Collective sent out several tweets outlining ticket sales and ways for fans who had tickets to the Tampa Bay Collective, to convert them. The Collective is offering multiple options. In addition to converting tickets for October’s shows, fans can rollover their tickets to any future Collective weekend, request a full refund, or convert the tickets for GCW events into credit to be used for any future GCW event over the next 12 months.
The original Collective was set to be a collaboration between several promotions including Black Label Pro and Absolute Intense Wrestling and was set to feature such events as Warhausen’s Wrestlevania, For the Culture, Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, Markus Crane’s Bondage A Gogo, Threat Level Midnight, EFFY’s Big Gay Brunch, Joey Janela’s Spring Break 4, and much more. On Sunday, August 30th, the Collective will be announcing the full slate of events for the October set of shows. For those unable to attend, it was also announced that the Collective will stream live on FITE TV.

“When the Collective was postponed, we made a promise to you the fans, all our partners, and to ourselves that we would see this thing through to the finish line…” the Collecie reiterated in a statement made on Twitter on August 28th. “For the last several months, GCW and its partners have worked hard to gain your trust and bring fans back to Indie Wrestling in as safe and responsible manner that we can…It hasn’t been easy, but your support for Indie Wrestling has kept us alive. If you didn’t show us that you wanted us to keep going, we wouldn’t be doing this.”
