Preview: WWE — Friday Night SmackDown (8/14/20)

Friday Night SmackDow

Friday Night SmackDown had a number of thought-provoking angles last week, leading to a rather unusual hype for the blue brand this week. With SummerSlam just over a week away, this is a big one. Here’s the preview.

Braun Strowman Plans To Confront “The Fiend”

Braun Strowman explained last week that he was going to “free the monster.” And while no one is too sure what that means, we do know that his return to SmackDown is expected to be this week as he attempts to confront “The FiendBray Wyatt. What will Strowman have to say to the deranged version of Wyatt? And will “The Fiend” even appear?

Triple Brand Battle Royale To Name Bayley’s Opponent At SummerSlam

This is one to be excited about. Women from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT will be on Friday Night SmackDown this week to capture an opportunity at Bayley and the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the second biggest show of the year, SummerSlam. There is a number of awesome talents that could walk out of this one, with the likes of Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, and Mia Yim among many others that really come to mind. Of course, there is no news as to who will be included in the match, but if the NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai enters, keep an eye out for her as well. There’s so much intrigue and should be a must-watch for anyone.

Big E vs. John Morrison

Big E looks to continue his fresh new singles run as he will now take on John Morrison in singles action. Just two weeks after defeating The Miz, Big E hopes to defeat his partner. This could tell a lot as to what the solo Big E will be doing as SummerSlam is just over a week away and his singles run seems to finally be going somewhere. It’s something to watch moving forward.

Alexa Bliss Sit-Down Interview

Alexa Bliss has a lot on her mind. At least one would assume so. And this Friday, she has her first chance to talk about it. Two weeks ago saw her get attacked by “The Fiend.” But it was last week that her moment of seemingly calming “The Fiend” and them staring at each other that has caused much speculation and confusion for fans. There’s also the part with Strowman said he doesn’t care about Alexa. Perhaps she could be picking a side and affecting that match when SummerSlam arrives.
