“Golden Boy” Travis Williams Quits ECCW, Vacates Title Following Allegations Against Company

Travis Williams

Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling (ECCW), arguably the premier indie promotion on Canada’s West Coast, found itself caught up in the #SpeakingOut movement when allegations of misconduct surrounding a member of management, co-owner Jeff Duncan. While ECCW announced the removal of a management member on Wednesday, the company did not release Duncan’s name. Following the news, the reigning ECCW Canadian Champion, “Golden Boy” Travis Williams announced his resignation from the promotion and relinquished his title.

Travis Williams, who was trained at the ECCW Training School by Artemis Spencer, Nicole Matthews, and Tony Baroni, has been with the company since his debut in 2017. Williams wasn’t the only ECCW wrestler to depart the company following the news broke, with fellow stars “Ravenous” Randy Myers, Elliot Tyler, Fergie, Eli Surge, Liiza Hall, and others announcing their departure from the Canadian indie.
