Southern Pro Wrestling and Impact Pro Wrestling Announce Partnership

Southern Pro Wrestling x Impact Pro Wrestling

The two biggest wrestling promotions in New Zealand have announced the formation of a formal partnership. Southern Pro Wrestling (SPW) and Impact Pro Wrestling (IPW) will continue to operate independently. However, championships will now be recognised across promotions and talent will be shared much more regularly.

Behind the scenes, these two promotions have had a longstanding relationship, often sharing talent.

Case and point, Southern Pro Wrestling will hold its Queenstown WrestleFest on March 16th. On the show, Jamie Tagataese will defend his IPW New Zealand Heavyweight Championship, for the first time in SPW, against “Human Hate Machine” T-Rex. The aforementioned partnership announcement simply makes this relationship public and formal.

SPW is based out of Invercargill, on the south island of New Zealand. SPW is best known for featuring recognizable talent such as Will Ospreay, Bea Priestley, Tenille Dashwood. Additionally, Slex, Indi Hartwell TK Cooper, Marcus Kool, Shane Sinclair, Kane Khan and JK Moody have come through the promotion at certain points.

IPW is based on the north island of New Zealand. They are best known for producing the likes of Travis Banks, Dakota Kai, Henare and Michael Richards at their training school. Other wrestlers that came through the promotion include Charlie Roberts, Jakob Cross, and Horus.

By joining forces, SPW and IWP become a premier force in New Zealand Wrestling. This union will boast a presence on both islands of the country.
