Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) has been the real Charlie Hustle of the US indie scene the past few years. What began as a new regional promotion in the New Jersey area in 2015 – re-branded from Jersey Championship Wrestling which had been operating since 1999 – has now exploded into a worldwide phenomenon. From breaking out of the New Jersey area and bringing shows across the US, from Philadelphia to Nashville to Los Angeles to Chicago to their upcoming debut in Detroit, as well as running events in Mexico and Japan, GCW has literally changed the game of what a smaller independent can do. In the process, they’ve become a new litmus test for regional stars, as we’ve seen people like Marko Stunt, Jake Atlas, Jungle Boy, Alex Zayne, and Blake Christian all breakout in the past few years (not to mention kickstarting PCO’s comeback).

Hot off the heels of their second tour of Japan last week, GCW has announced the next part of their global expansion – they’re heading to the United Kingdom. They’re heading to Liverpool, England at the end of August and teaming up with TNT Extreme Wrestling for a series of shows, including GCW vs TNT as well as their own proper GCW event. The TNT World Championship is currently held by sometimes GCW competitor, David Starr. No word yet on the roster being sent to England, but another great feat by GCW as they continue to become arguably the top US indie promotion.
