Chris Ridgeway is the second person announced for PROGRESS Wrestling’s Super Strong Style 16. Representing Pro Wrestling NOAH Ridgeway is a former finalist of the Natural Progression Series.
Known as “hard as f**k” before going to Japan Ridgeway had a reputation for being one of the most underrated wrestlers on the scene. Whenever he got the opportunity he would have great matches full of hard-hitting action. Spending time with Pro Wrestling NOAH has only made Ridgeway even better with his strikes somehow becoming even stiffer but also his overall game improving a lot as he has been a part of their Junior heavyweight division which is a lot more technical than NJPW’s.
Ridgeway always felt like he was made for Japan and as part of Stinger he has had a good time with Pro Wrestling NOAH that has solidified his spot as one of the best-unsigned wrestlers in the UK.
What may cost Chris Ridgeway here is his availability. According to PROGRESS’ twitter, he is a resident in Japan and is only available in the UK for brief windows. Given PROGRESS’ past issues of giving the SSS16 win to wrestlers that couldn’t build to their match, they may not want to give this opportunity to Ridgeway. Regardless, he is a welcome addition to the tournament field and is sure to have some fantastic matches during his run.
