NXT Recap (8/14/19)

NXT Recap

Following another amazing Takeover special, NXT aired a relatively calm episode airing impressive video packages and two matches.
However, these two matches include the return of Fandango and the finals of the NXT Takeover Breakout Tournament. Join me as we take a look at the latest episode of N…X….T in your NXT Recap

BREEZANGO SUCCESSFUL IN RETURN AGAINST FORGOTTEN SONS

The re-imagination of Breezango was introduced to the world against The Forgotten Sons. While The Forgotten Sons did get in plenty of offense, this was all about Fandango’s return.

Fandango looked crisp and re-invigorated in his NXT return and reminded everyone he’s more than the comedy guy from the fashion files.

Breezango picked up the win following a slingshot elbow drop, backbreaker combo for the three count. Nobody should be surprised if this duo is in the title picture soon.

JORDAN MYLES OVERCOMES GRIMES TO WIN FIRST NXT BREAKOUT TOURNAMENT

Tournament favorites Jordan Myles and Cameron Grimes squared off in the finals of the NXT Breakout Tournament.

Jordan Myles walked away with the win, as he deserved. Cameron Grimes though is walking out a winner. He looked every bit the savage opportunistic heel he should be.

Everything from smashing Myles face first in the turnbuckle ( I legitimately thought he would have a broken nose), that fantastic spot he does with the middle rope, and his well put technical savagery.

Jordan Myles’ veteran savvy and high flying offense proved to be the difference-maker. Grimes attempted another brutal turnbuckle smash, but Myles countered hitting the 450 splash for the win.

While the immediate focus will/should be on Myles, I would not be surprised if this goes on a path similar to the Shayn Baszler vs Kairi Sane feud.
