Scarlett Bordeaux Granted Release By IMPACT Wrestling

Scarlett Bordeaux has officially been granted her release from IMPACT Wrestling. After being revealed last week by Killer Kross that Scarlett Bordeaux was working a 9 to 5 job while living with her mom due to her contract simply not giving her enough, IMPACT did the right thing. Now, Bordeaux can look for a new source of work in wrestling.  The question will be simple: Where is “The Smokeshow” going to show up next?

Scarlett has already let it be known to the fans that she is excited to be a free agent for a while and has prepared taking bookings. For those who may only know Scarlett’s IMPACT work, let us take a stroll down memory lane as Scarlett has only improved in her time and is sure to be a hot ticket now that she is free.

Scarlett made her pro wrestling debut back in 2012 as a part of Chicago Style Wrestling in April of that year, when she would come out victorious in doing so. Bordeaux then went to Ohio Valley Wrestling, where she would work with the likes of Heidi Lovelace (aka Ruby Riott), Taeler Hendrix, and Taryn Terrell of IMPACT fame. She would be signed by Ring of Honor as a manager, accompanying the now current ROH World Champion Matt Taven to the ring as a part of “The Hoopla Hotties”. Scarlett would eventually have her in-ring ROH debut as a part of Four Corner Survival match, which was won by Athena (aka Ember Moon).

The matches for Scarlett wouldn’t begin to really build up for a few years, however, she managed to learn the way as a part of Ring of Honor. From being a manager to Taven to switching off in-ring announcing with Bobby Cruise, it was clear Scarlett wanted to be apart of wrestling any way she could. Scarlett has even said that announcing at ROH’s 12th Anniversary Show is still one of her favorite moments in her wrestling career. In 2014 and 2015, she would compete in matches apart of TNA, Xtreme Intense Championship Wrestling, and Fringe Pro Wrestling. It would be the years following where “The Smokeshow” would really begin to find her footing, allowing her to be today’s hottest free agent.

She would start working in more and more companies like Stardom and Shimmer. In her lone match in Shimmer in 2016, Scarlett would be on the losing side along with her partner Solo Darling as they lost to Melanie Cruise and Yumi Ohka. In 2017, she would work a series of matches teaming Chardonnay for much of her time. She would compete as a part of the Goddesses of Stardom Tag League, where she would team with Chardonnay to defeat the likes of Queen’s Quest, formed up of AZM, HZK, Momo Watanabe, and Io Shirai. She would even get an opportunity to fight for the AWS Women’s Championship in December of that same year, losing to the champion Kris Wolf. In her final Stardom match, she would team with Rachel Ellering to defeat Queen’s Quest once again at the Stardom Year-End Climax show.

More recently, Scarlett found her in-ring skill as a part of IMPACT and AAA through their partnership. Debuting as “The Smokeshow” in IMPACT paved the way for her to find great success and show off her ability inside the ring. Her shtick began to stick in IMPACT and she began helping the brand make big waves that they had been looking to make for years.  She continuously teamed with Keyra and La Hiedra in tag team action at the end of 2018. She also made her Bar Wrestling and WrestlePro debuts in the year of 2018 as she branches out to perform at more and more events. “The Smokeshow” is clearly becoming a hot act on the wrestling scene as we are now just halfway through 2019 and she has had her most success to date.

Besides her work in IMPACT this year, Scarlett has worked with her most companies in a single year already. From her successful victory teaming with Martina and Priscilla Kelly at Joey Ryan’s Penis Party over WrestleMania week to beating Jordynne Grace at ICW What’s Beef, she is only more prepared to carry her momentum to even more companies. Her most recent match took place in AAA at Conquista Total Gira, where she suffered a loss teaming with Taya Valkyrie and Lady Shani, losing to Chik Tormenta, La Hiedra, and Tessa Blanchard.

It is an exciting time for Scarlett Bordeaux as now she can call her shots as her stock only continues to rise. As a wrestling fan, you have to be incredibly happy for Scarlett as she can now pursue her own destiny. The talent is clearly there to put on some great matches, and she is incredibly young, you can expect her to happily make something of it. Now free from IMPACT, only one question remains. Where do you hope to see “The Smokeshow” turn up the rest of this year and into the future?
