This past weekend, the Tate Twins – Brent & Brandon Tate – more popularly known as former Ring of Honor World Champion Dalton Castle‘s man servants The Boys, wrestled in the opening Wild Card Battle Royale at NWA Crockett Cup 2019. The following day, Brent posted a photo on his Twitter of his foot crushing the peacock mask that has been synonymous with their run aside Castle, stating “New Era, True Tag Team, The Tate Twins”, seemingly signaling the end of the relationship with Dalton Castle that began in 2015 when Castle officially joined ROH at the 2015 Top Prospect Tournament.

Trained by Nick Dinsmore (formerly WWE Superstar Eugene), the duo began in 2009 as The Hawaiian Connection before becoming simply The Baronis Brothers (Brandon & Brent Baronis), in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). By 2012, they had renamed to the Tate Twins and made their ROH debut in the summer of 2014, where they faced current NXT Tag Team Champions Viking Raiders (formerly War Machine in ROH).
The last time The Tate Twins stepped foot in a @ringofhonor ring, was against two monsters 5 years ago at #BITW 2014.

They returned full time with ROH in 2015, when they joined Dalton Castle’s entourage as his manservants and frequent 6-man tag team partners. While they would still work outside of ROH as a tag team, with the likes of WrestleCircus, Tennessee’s Next Generation Wrestling (NGW), and others, they were still known as The Boys. They found success in ROH, even capturing the ROH World 6-Man Tag Team titles in June of 2017, but they always remained in the shadow of Dalton Castle’s larger than life personality, even when he wasn’t with them.
But now it appears that The Boys are ready to step away from the peacock feathers and spotlight that surrounds Dalton Castle and return to tag team wrestling under their own brand and names and create their own legacy in the wrestling world.
