Two new champions were crowned at tonight’s Defiant Wrestling Lights Out event, as there were shakeups to both the World and Women’s Championship scenes.
Firstly, Lizzy Styles was awarded the Defiant Women’s Championship by general manager Prince Ameen following Kanji voluntarily giving up the title after suffering from a broken hand. The One Woman Army was able to fend off former ally Lana Austin in order to officially cement her status as the champion, much to the dismay of everyone in attendance. This continues her undefeated streak in Defiant, having made her debut for the company on the Loaded episode following Unstoppable. With the prize now around her waist, there may be no stopping Lizzy Styles.

Later on in the main event, Rampage made Defiant Wrestling history as he became the first ever two-time World Champion following his No DQ victory over Rory Coyle. The pair had a vicious brawl all around the O2 Academy as you’d expect from these two, eventually culminating with a brutal piledriver on top of a VHS player. There were shenanigans aplenty towards the end, as some of Coyle’s hooded goons intervened in an attempt to aid The Last True Sick Boy but after disposing of them, the hometown boy overcame the sickest man in British wrestling to begin his second reign with Defiant’s top championship.

In other notable happenings from the show, Martin Kirby retained his Internet Championship over a debuting Sean Kustom, Joe Hendry and Gabriel Kidd were victorious over John Klinger and David Starr respectively, and we were witness to not one, but two instant classics as PAC faced El Phantasmo while Mark Haskins went toe to toe with Robbie X.
