Jim Ross Reveals AEW Has “Major Cable” TV Deal in Place, Debuting in October

On Friday, legendary wrestling broadcaster Jim Ross was a guest on WFAN Sports Talk Radio in New York City, where he was being interviewed about his new role with All Elite Wrestling, which was just announced this week. During the interview, he let a little bit of news out that AEW has already inked their TV deal and would be debuting in October. “[AEW] is overwhelming for me,” Ross said. “To be 67 years old and be anointed the voice of a brand that’s gonna be debuting in October on national television on a major cable network, which can’t be named now. When people hear what network we’re going on, they’re gonna be doubly excited. It’s a network we can all find.” (Transcription courtesy Wrestling Inc.)

While he couldn’t name the station in question, it had been reported that AEW was close to finalizing a deal with one of two Turner Broadcasting stations, either TBS or TNT, both which are easily accessible on US cable. It’s speculated that TBS will be the destination for the show, which they trademarked the name Tuesday Night Dynamite for last year. While some wonder why AEW would wait until October to launch the show, which would happen after their PPVs Double or Nothing in May, Fight for the Fallen in July and September’s expected All In 2, it would appear they are waiting to launch in the Tuesday timeslot once WWE shifts Tuesday’s SmackDown Live to FOX Sports on Friday nights that same month.
