Oney Lorcan Makes Main Roster Debut with 205 Live, Colby Corino Also Appears

On Tuesday night, NXT’s Oney Lorcan became the next NXT Superstar to make the jump to the main brands, joining Raw‘s Cruiserweight Division and the 205 Live brand. He entered the Cruiserweight Championship tournament, defeating another recent NXT call up in Humberto Carrillo and advanced to the next round. He had previously appeared on one episode of 205 Live back in 2017, in a loss to Rich Swann.

Oney Lorcan joined the WWE in 2015 and has been working with NXT since he signed, where for the past year he’s been part of a tag team with UK star Danny Burch (aka Martin Stone). But the 33-year old is a 10-year veteran of the ring, starting out in 2009 with Chaotic Wrestling in Massachusetts, where he wrestled as Bif Busick. A product of Lance Storm‘s Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Lorcan began working for his home state Chaotic Wrestling in 2009, blossoming into one of the best technicians in the indies.

By 2012, he began to venture out of state and got his feet wet in other promotions like Beyond Wrestling, Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), and Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW). In 2013, he entered his first CZW Best of the Best tournament and made his debuts with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), EVOLVE and CHIKARA, where he entered the PWG Battle of Los Angeles in both 2014 and 2015. In 2014, he captured the CZW World Heavyweight Championship, which he held for 161 days.

In other 205 Live news from Tuesday night, Mike Kanellis faced a local talent in his 205 Live match and the wrestler was rising indie star Colby Corino. Corino previously worked with Kanellis (back when he was Mike Bennett) back in Ring of Honor, although the two never crossed paths in the ring. The 22-year old is the son of WWE Producer and former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Steve Corino and has been working for EVOLVE Wrestling the past year.
