In sad news on Monday, Hollywood actor Luke Perry – best remembered for his portrayal of bad boy Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills 90210 and recently as Fred Andrews on Riverdale – had passed away as a result of the massive stroke he suffered last week. While not a pro wrestler by any means, the outpouring of tributes by wrestling personalities, from the WWE to indie workers, showed a lifelong wrestling fan who was beloved and respected by all he met on the circuits.
While Perry never got into pro wrestling himself – outside random appearances, such as appearing on SmackDown back in 2006 or on the Edge & Christian Show in 2016 – his son Jack Perry has recently emerged as one of the top indie prospects from the West Coast. Wrestling as Jungle Boy, he wowed West Coast promotions and earlier this year was signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Sadly, Luke will not get a chance to see his son perform for the company. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the entire Perry family during this hard time.

1st got to meet Luke when Dad brought him backstage at wcw. The highlight of my match in the cow palace was him coming back to tell us we did a good job. Blessed to have the chance to talk to him recently about his son. He was part of our wrestling family & will be sorely missed

Had the pleasure of meeting Luke Perry on a couple occasions. He was a normal guy… humble and kind.
He passed these traits on to his son Jack, whom everyone at GCW is thinking of today.
