BREAKING: Madison Rayne Returning to IMPACT Wrestling

Madison Rayne

Less than 24 hours after it was reported that Madison Rayne was leaving Ring of Honor’s Women of Honor due to unhappiness with the creative direction, IMPACT Wrestling announced that their five-time Knockouts champion would be returning to the company.

While the 33-year-old Rayne is recently known for her time in WOH as well as competing in WWE‘s second annual Mae Young Classic and taking part in All In, the bulk of her career has been spent with TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. Rayne first debuted for the company in 2008 and became a full-time member of the roster a year later.

The current Remix Pro Fury Champion and International Wrestling Cartel Women’s Champion, Rayne is one of the most successful Knockouts in history, recording five singles title reigns and two with the tag team championships, the first alongside Lacey von Erich and Velvet Sky as the Beautiful People and most recently in 2012, with Gail Kim.

In 2018, after nine-plus years with the company, Rayne departed for WOH, where she spent just six months. Now, she’ll be making her return to a brand new Knockouts division which features the potential for her to take on a mentorship role and work with some fresh faces. Before departing the company last year, Rayne had begun doing this, working both on the creative team and in a commentary role. It is unknown at this time what her responsibilities will be in her return.

While many speculated Rayne might head to All Elite Wrestling, she’s decided to come home instead, doing so at a time where the Knockouts division is as good as it’s ever been. Her re-addition to the roster will only make it better as Rayne will bring veteran leadership in the locker room as well as in the ring, where she’ll have opportunities to face the new ladies such as current Knockouts champion Taya Valkyrie, who she’s only shared the ring with once and Jordynne Grace and Scarlett Bordeaux, both of which would be first-time ever matchups.
