#AndNEW: Kelly Klein Wins WOH World Championship

After a stop and start (and seemingly eight month holding pattern), the Women of Honor World Championship got one of it’s first truly “big match” moments on Friday night at Ring of Honor Final Battle, as Kelly Klein defeated WOH Champion Sumie Sakai, along with fellow challengers Karen Q and Madison Rayne, to become the new WOH World Champion.

It marks a redemption of sorts for Kelly Klein, who went into the finals for the WOH Championship tournament earlier this year on a huge winning streak. Following her loss in the finals, Klein seemingly distanced herself from the title hunt, instead heading to Japan to tour with Stardom instead. In the meantime, Sumie Sakai held the WOH title for 251 days and a deserved first champion – after all, Sakai was in the first ever women’s match in ROH history, just months after they opened their doors in 2002. Now WOH heads into 2019 with a fresh new hungry champion ready to take WOH to greater heights.
