Germany’s Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) has long since emerged as one of Europe’s premier indie promotions, being the home of such talents as WALTER, Ilja Dragunov, Jurn Simmons, “Bad Bones” John Klinger and more, including WWE/NXT stars like SaNitY’s Alexander Wolfe (formerly Axel Tischer), Killer Kelly and Marcel Barthel (formerly Axel Dieter Jr.). They recently housed the first WWE Tryout in Germany and they’ve recently entered into an alliance with the WWE similar to what EVOLVE does in the US. Today they announced a huge 6-man faction match for their 18th Anniversary Show in December, that sees the legendary wXw stable Ringkampf reunite with a former member against UK stable British Strong Style, that features WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne and Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven & Tyler Bate).

Ringkampf was founded in 2015 by WALTER, Axel Dieter Jr., Axel Tischer and Christian Michael Jakobi, but the classic line-up ended up becoming the trio of Dieter Jr., WALTER and former EVOLVE Champion Timothy Thatcher. Tischer Jr. left wXw for the WWE in late 2015, where he became Alexander Wolfe, and Dieter Jr. followed suit last year, where he works the NXT Live Events under his real name of Marcel Barthel. He’s worked several NXT tapings but has yet to make an official debut.
Since then, Ringkampf has continued to work as a duo with WALTER and Thatcher, winning the wXw World Tag Team titles, while WALTER has emerged as the breakout star of 2018, capturing the PROGRESS, Over The Top (OTT) Wrestling, and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) World Championships. At the wXw 18th Anniversary Show on December 22, NXT is sending Barthel back to wXw to compete with his former Ringkampf stablemates, where Axel Dieter Jr. will make his in-ring return in the promotion that made him an international indie star.
