Preview: Beyond Wrestling ‘It’s Alive!’ (10/31/18)

Beyond Wrestling has a special Halloween night show this Wednesday night, airing live on Powerbomb.tv, called It’s Alive, featuring some fun match-ups that will probably take a spooky twist for this holiday season. Here’s a quick run down of the card!

KRIS STADTLANDER vs. MATT CROSS

Kris Stadtlander just recently made her Beyond Wrestling debut at Please Come Back, winning a hard fought match against Beyond veteran John Silver and she’s the firs of the new debuts to make their return. She’s once again going into an intergender match, this time facing another longtime indie veteran in Matt Cross. Cross is making his first return to Beyond since 2016, when he lost to Jonathan Gresham at Insatiable, but he’s kept busy. He’s a regular with Lucha Underground (as Son of Havoc) and continues to travel the world working for the likes of House of Hardcore, Bar Wrestling, Smash Wrestling, DEFY Wrestling and many more.

JOSH BRIGGS vs. LUCHASAURUS

Couple of big hosses go to war on Halloween night, as Josh Briggs continues his solid year at Beyond in 2018 by going head to head with Lucha Underground’s Luchasaurus (aka Vibora of the Reptile Tribe). Briggs is riding a three match win streak, over Curt Stallion, Ryan Galeone, and Brody King and will look to extend his impressive win/loss in Beyond in 2018. This marks Luchasaurus’ official Beyond debut, as he’s been primarily working with Bar Wrestling and Lucha Underground this year.

ANTHONY GREENE vs. JOEY RYAN

“All Good” Anthony Greene has been a Beyond regular since 2012, as well as competing regularly with Massachusetts’ Chaotic Wrestling as well (he’s the current CW New England Champion). Greene is coming off three straight losses in Beyond and hopes to change that streak when he faces the power of the penis, Joey Ryan. “The King of Dong Style” is returning for his match with Beyond since the WrestleMania week show Lit Up (a co-production with Women’s Wrestling Revolution), and it’s first singles match since winning the DDT Pro Heavymetalweight Iron Man Championship back at Americanrana ’16.

ULTRAMANTIS BLACK vs. STOKELY HATHAWAY

A rare sighting for former CHIKARA Grand Champion UltraMantis Black in 2018, as he seemingly retired last year after 15 years with CHIKARA. He’s taking on one of the best mic men in the business in Stokely Hathaway, who usually appears more as a manager than an active wrestler. This should be a fun match for the comedy alone.

DAVID STARR & ?? vs. TRACY WILLIAMS & WHEELER YUTA

“The Ace of Beyond”, David Starr, is undefeated in Beyond in 2018, with big wins over Matt Riddle, Josh Briggs, Timothy Thatcher and Joey Janela. One of his other victories came against “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams, who is bringing a partner in emerging indie star Wheeler YUTA to face Starr in tag team action. David Starr hasn’t announced his partner yet, but whomever it is will be sure to add to an already exciting match-up.

NICK GAGE vs. G-RAVER

Despite both being American hardcore veterans, this is shockingly only the second time these two have faced each other – their only previous encounter was in July of 2017 with On Point Wrestling (OPW) in a triple threat with another legend, Danny Havoc. This one is sure to get ultraviolent as G-Raver makes his Beyond Wrestling debut.

KIMBER LEE vs. HARLOW O’HARA

Kimber Lee has been on a tear since returning to the indies from her stint with NXT (as Abbey Laith), and the former CHIKARA Grand Champion hasn’t lost a step. She won La Loteria Letal with CHIKARA this past weekend (tagging with The Whisper) and had a battle with “Alpha Female” Jazzy Gabert on Sunday at WWR vs The World. She also recently made her Japanese debut competing with Stardom. She faces one of the new emerging stars of the indie circuit in the gothic darkness of Harlow O’Hara. The current reigning Battle Club Pro (BCP) ICONS Champion, O’Hara is spreading a dark shadow of magic across rings across the country, having also recently joined Women of Wrestling (WOW).

CHRIS DICKINSON vs. JIMMY JACOBS

Chris Dickinson is one of the longest tenured Beyond stars in the company and he’s a notoriously heavy hitter. He’ll have an extra bit of sourness in his grapes when he faces “The Zombie Princess” Jimmy Jacobs on Halloween – he and longtime partner Jaka just lost their EVOLVE Tag Team titles to NXT’s Street Profits on Sunday. This marks the first singles match up of the two, but despite the power difference, Jacobs is no stranger to hardcore wrestling if need be.

PCO vs. MJF (w/ THOMAS SHARP)

Photo: Beyond Wrestling

“Not Human” PCO continues his devastation tour around the world, returning to Beyond for the first time since his encounter with Brian Cage at Americanrana ’18 this past July. He’s going up against someone with a bit of a size advantage, in perennial loudmouth MJF, but MJF is known more for his cunning and chicanery that strength anyway – and he’s not coming alone. He’s secured the services of bodyguard Thomas Sharp (formerly Blaster McMassive in CHIKARA) to watch his back, should PCO’s handler Destro bring out the jumper cables to revive the French-Canadian Frankenstein.

Also booked to appear are The Twisted Sisterz (Holidead & Thunder Rosa) and The Beaver Boys (Alex Reynolds & John Silver) although no match has been announced for either – chances are they will end up facing each other.
