WWE SNME 7/18: Big Star-Studded Tag Match Set, Gunther DESTROYS Nick Aldis

WWE SNME just got a lot bigger on this week’s WWE SmackDown. Cody Rhodes and CM Punk had the confrontation of a lifetime to begin the night, setting up a huge main event for the “Biggest Party of the Summer” in 3 weeks. Gunther was not at all happy with this and told Nick Aldis he wants the Undisputed WWE Title and whoever he needs to face for it. Nick Aldis said he’ll consider it, and Gunther wants an answer at the end of the night.

Nick Aldis Refuses Gunther on WWE SmackDown, Book WWE SNME Mega Match

Gunther said he wanted CM Punk or Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title Match, and he wanted answers by the end of the night. Sure enough, Nick Aldis did have an answer for him. He will indeed get CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, just not for the Undisputed WWE Title. At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event next week, July 18th, the Ring General will team up with Sami Zayn to take on Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk and Cody Rhodes in a box office tag team match.

Right off the bat, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was not at all happy and battered Nick Aldis. The SmackDown GM was put on administrative leave after getting physical with Gunther, but now, it seems like Gunther will pay some dire consequences. The big Austrian put Aldis in a Sleeper and would not let go even after a sea of WWE officials went for him.

Gunther was on a path to destruction, and he would not let go. Fortunately, Cody Rhodes was around to make the save, putting an end to this violent display on Nick Aldis. We have our WWE SNME main event as WWE returns to Madison Square Garden, but at what cost? Nick Aldis didn’t give in to Gunther’s demand, and it cost him big-time.
