The “Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin, who was known for a time as Bishop Dyer in his time in the Independent scene and Major League Wrestling (MLW), has made his return to WWE. It has been nearly three years since we’ve seen Baron Corbin in a WWE ring, and now that he’s back, he’s looking to pick up right where he left off.
Baron Corbin is Back and Better than Ever in WWE
Beginning in his time in NXT, most looked at Corbin as the next big WWE monster. Unfortunately, despite having one of the most imposing looks the WWE Universe has seen in a long time, backed up by legit credentials in the fighting space as well as the Gridiron, on top of a protected finisher in the form of the “End of Days,” Baron Corbin’s push was always stop-start.
From a vicious monster to a constable, and eventually a sad and happy version of him, Corbin proved he was a valuable asset wherever you put him on the card. Unfortunately, in November of 2024, Baron was released by WWE.
Corbin went on to dominate the indie scene. As Bishop Dyer, he won with former NXT star Dominic Dijak the MLW World Tag Team Championship. For months, the return of Baron Corbin in WWE was heating up, and it finally happened on the July 10, 2026 episode of SmackDown in the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, weeks ahead of SummerSlam 2026.
As Carmelo Hayes was closing in on the win against Trick William in a non-title match. Baron Corbin would deck Hayes as he was going for Nothing but Net. After the fact, he turned his attention to Trick Williams, landing the End of Days on the Champion.
Baron Corbin returns to WWE, and he has one thing on his mind: the United States Championship. Apart from being a former NXT Tag Team Champion and Money in the Bank winner, Baron Corbin is a former United States Champion, and now he’s back and as devastating as ever.
