WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME) XLIV Preview & Match Card (5/23/26)

For the first time in a long while, WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is back in Fort Wayne, Indiana! The premier classic WWE Premium Live Event features an exciting night with a star-studded multi-person tag, plus four title matches! We provide all of you with a WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event preview as it transpires on May 23, 2026, all the way from the beautiful Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

We all know you’re hyped, so let’s do this. It’s Saturday night, and we will run it down!

Injection of New Blood

It’s been a wild past month as WWE’s biggest and brightest from NXT make their presence felt on SmackDown and WWE Raw. Two stars who immediately made an impact were former NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca. The woman with the most exciting finisher of the past decade, the Sol Snatcher, has been making waves since her arrival on WWE Raw.

On her first night, Ruca took Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan to the limit, and if it weren’t for Zaria, Sol would’ve had her biggest win on her first night against WWE’s best. But the train wouldn’t stop there, as Sol Ruca signed her contract the next week to be officially part of the Raw roster. Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch would confront the new signee, with Ruca getting the upper hand in this exchange, hitting a Sol Snatcher on “The Man.”

Weeks later, we would see Becky Lynch finally try to intimidate Ruca, saying if she’s ready, then Lynch is ready, stating she’s a star-maker but the undisputed star-breaker if you can’t hang. Confidently, Sol Ruca proclaimed that she’s out to snatch Becky’s soul and the title hanging off her shoulders.

Ruca has been one of the most impressive additions to the Monday night roster, and she gets her shot against legitimately the biggest star that she has to offer on her first Premium Live Event on the main roster.

Speaking of title shots, Ethan Page managed to land himself one only a month after his debut. He played his cards right and bypassed Rusev and Je’Von Evans, who have been hot on the trail of Penta and the Intercontinental Championship.

Page is so confident he even called his shot at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, not the champion. Of course, Penta wouldn’t back down from a challenge and immediately said yes, as long as he could get his hands on the egotistical Ethan Page.

On the May 7th Raw, Page fired the first shot, pinning Penta smack-dab in the middle of the ring in a tag match with Je’Von and Rusev. Now, Ethan Page has all the momentum heading in. But one thing’s for certain: Penta is hellbent on keeping his Intercontinental title no matter the circumstances, and he’ll bring the most dangerous version of himself on Saturday night.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIV is quite the showcase for the WWE main roster’s newest acquisitions, and we cannot wait to see what they’re made of.
