TNA Thursday Night iMPACT Preview (5/14/26) – Alive and Live from Sacramento

Here is the TNA Thursday Night iMPACT preview of the May 14, 2026, episode. With four matches and two segments, this episode is live and historic. As TNA Wrestling announced its full 2026 schedule of live events and PLEs, we know that we are now on the road to TNA Slammiversary on June 28. This may look like a long ride to the PLE, but it gives more reasons to watch Thursday Night iMPACT weekly on AMC (or TNA+). The show is now reuniting around 250K people every week on TV, so let’s get it on this way.

Last night on NXT, there was no content related to TNA Wrestling. If all the TNA titles are now back home, the partnership is not done. Crossing the lines also means crossing the reviews. NXT may be a WWE show; observing what happens on Tuesday nights has become essential to understanding what may happen on Thursday nights. With that in mind, let’s now Nygma-dive into the episode.

Thursday Night iMPACT Preview (5/14/26) – The Stakes at TNA Wrestling

This week, TNA Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC takes over Sacramento, CA, with a stacked card. TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater takes on Cedric Alexander in a grueling 2-out-of-3 Falls Match for the TNA X-Division Championship. A No. 1 Contender’s Battle Royal determines the next challenger for the TNA World Championship.

A high-stakes No. 1 Contenders Battle Royal will determine the next challenger for the TNA World Championship at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. This over-the-top-rope match promises complete chaos as the roster fights for a guaranteed shot at the gold.

The intense rivalry between KC Navarro and AJ Francis explodes in a no-disqualification Sactown Street Fight live from the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. Adding a legendary voice to the chaos, Chris Caray, a fourth-generation MLB play-by-play TV announcer for the Athletics and the great-grandson of Baseball Hall of Famer Harry Caray, will join the TNA Broadcast Team for this brutal encounter.

We’ll hear from the newly crowned two-time TNA Knockouts World Champion Léi Ying Lee as she addresses the fans in Sacramento following her monumental title victory. We’ll also hear from the TNA World Champion, Mike Santana, as he addresses the Sacramento crowd.

In a high-stakes 2-out-of-3 Falls main event, Leon Slater defends his TNA X-Division Title against a relentless Cedric Alexander, who has pinned the champion multiple times in recent weeks. History is on the line for Slater: a successful defense would officially crown him as both the youngest and longest-reigning TNA X-Division Champion.

The supernatural rivalry continues as Rosemary and Allie look to settle the score with Victoria Crawford and Mila Moore. This battle stems from a deeply unsettled business and lingering grudges forged during their haunting time within the Undead Realm.

Thursday Night iMPACT Preview (5/14/26) – The Nygma’s View

Champions and Challengers

TNA World Champion Mike Santana has some things to say. About Daria Rae’s decision to make a #1 contender Battle Royal? Possible. To address his new #1 contender? It depends on whether the segment happens after the match. Will Nic Nemeth remind him that he still has the Call Your Shot trophy? Maybe. Nygma says: I give my tongue to the cat (my French version of you giving up).

Knockouts World Champion Léi Ying Lee brought the title back home last week, and she obviously has some things to tell us. And I don’t think she will be the only one. As seen last week, a lot of Knockouts are already waiting for a shot. Elayna Black, Ash by Elegance, and Indi Hartwell want the title. Xia Brookside would combine business with pleasure if she destroyed her former team partner and dethroned her at the same time. Nygma says: Not one, all of them. This could make a fabulous Ultimate-X match.

A #1 Contender Battle Royal is set, with the winner earning a World Championship title shot. Who will be in? No clue. Who could be a good challenger for Mike Santana? My choices may not be yours. Steve Maclin is cleared, and I’m sure he will be in the ring. Nygma says: Is Steve Maclin a good contender for Santana? Again, my opinion may not be yours.

Youngest in charge and longest reigning?

If Leon Slater successfully defends the X-Division Title on Thursday Night iMPACT, he will be the longest reigning TNA X-Division Champion in history. After 14 years, Austin Aries’ 298-day reign would be surpassed. Then, he has to face Cedric Alexander in a 2-out-of-3 falls match, and have at least 2 falls. After being the youngest signee, the youngest main-eventer, and the youngest X-Division Champion, Leon Slater is on the verge of being a true TNA legend.

Nygma says: The System will be there, maybe Moose. In the end, the company can’t avoid history being made. Slater wins, of course. This is a feel-good moment, like the Slammiversary 2025 winning bout, we need. The question is, what’s next for Slater? Reaching the 10-time Chris Sabin record is impossible. Continuing this way? Cashing in Option C like Aries did in 2012? Becoming the youngest TNA World Champion of all time (AJ Styles was 26 and Tessa Blanchard 24 when they won the World title)? Or WWE?

The Unknowns

Rosemary and Allie face Mila Moore and Victoria Crawford. Of course, Tessa Blanchard will make her presence felt, forcing Mara Sadé to unload her deadly lollipops. We have seen enough of them. If the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship were a part of the story, it would suddenly become more interesting. Nygma says: I love the Undeads, so don’t ask me who I support.

KC Navarro and AJ Francis face off in a SacTown Street Fight. Chris Caray, the announcer for the Athletics of MLB, will be at the announce table. Wherever it happens, a Street Fight remains a no-DQ, weapon-loaded match. AJ Francis has no problem with weapons. I expect Navarro to be the same. Nygma says: I’m never against a violent bout, but I’m always against an AJ Francis match.

I’ll see you on Friday with all the results and the review. And also on Saturday for the taping spoilers, including the Wicked Garden match and the Champions Challenge. As I have already said many times, 2026 is a loaded year for TNA Wrestling. Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC era is nothing but Nygma. How else could it be? Till then, may the Nygma be with you.
