AEW Collision Slam Dunk Sunday Preview (3/22/26) – AEW World Trios Championship Rematch

After an impactful first AEW Dynamite following AEW Revolution, we get not one but two bite-sized episodes. Replicating last year’s AEW Collision structure, the split happens due to the NCAA March Madness tournament, and we get two one-hour Slam Dunk editions of AEW Collision. You can find the preview for AEW Collision Slam Dunk Saturday here.

As on Saturday, Sunday brings a combination of tag, trios, and singles action. We’re going to be treated to AEW’s range this weekend. Styles will clash across the card.

With Lio Rush bringing his Blackheart persona to AEW, it feels like fittingly ironic booking to go against the former Blackheart. Many fans over the weekend discussed Rush’s new profile picture on the AEW roster page. Wait until you see this persona in the ring. Taking on the now heel Tommaso Ciampa, am I the only one wondering if Mark Briscoe could get involved post-match?

Plus, the new AEW Women’s World Tag Team champions will make their TBA opponents bow down.

The Start of a Beautiful Friendship?

We finally have an answer to the question that has long plagued many fans. Roderick Strong isn’t a member of The Conglomeration yet. So, you are telling me there is a chance?

Well, on the sunny side, we’re getting a potential new odd-partner tag team in Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong. Fresh character development for both, now on the same page, Cassidy and Strong will take on the Lethal Twist combination of Jay Lethal and Lee Johnson. An interesting clash of histories and roles.

Lethal and Strong have a long shared history, dating back to their time together in Ring of Honor. Big Shotty Johnson has, along with Christian Blake, been grinding away in ROH. Four individuals and four distinct styles will make this an engaging exhibition. Perhaps also the start of a beautiful friendship.

AEW World Trios Championship Rematch

For many fans, seeing the AEW World Trios Championships change hands so quickly (as in a short reign) at Revolution was a fun surprise. On their first time teaming with CMLL legend, Mistico, JetSpeed once again has the gold. Even more surprising, Mistico is the latest CMLL dual contract signee.

Yet one week after winning the titles, could there be another upset? Well, given the combination that The Don Callis Family has put into this rematch, maybe. Josh Alexander has been breaking bones and beating up black shirts backstage. Although The Walking Weapon has had some big losses, and the headgear has gone flying, with backup, Alexander is a different animal.

Alongside the enigmatic El Clone, as well as one of the family’s top Alphas, Konosuke Takeshita, it’s a difficult test for the new champions. Yes, Bailey, Knight, and Mistico can fly and manoeuvre, but Takeshita can treat them like empty tracksuits.

Yet the new champions are more than high-flyers. Knight is earmarked as a future main eventer, and Speedball Mike Bailey is focused on not being overlooked. Plus, with the veteran dark arts of Mistico, this could be a week-stealer of a match.
