Drew McIntyre Quits on WWE SmackDown

Drew McIntyre has had the highest of highs and sobering lows during his time on WWE SmackDown. He’s been the thorn on the side of Cody Rhodes, even getting suspended for his troubles. McIntyre’s time on the blue brand and in WWE was all worth it, in spite of the turmoil, as he defeated Cody Rhodes to ring in the new year in Germany as he became Undisputed WWE Champion.

Sure, the “Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu would interfere, essentially costing Cody the title, but that didn’t matter to McIntyre; he was champion, and he’s finally beaten QB1 to claim the title and moniker as top guy in WWE. The ride would be a bumpy one, but McIntyre relished the fact that he was in the driver’s seat. McIntyre would reign supreme over SmackDown, even notching a successful title defense at the Royal Rumble against Sami Zayn.

Drew, arguably, had the best two months of his career. Unfortunately, it all came crashing down, and on this week’s WWE SmackDown, McIntyre has had enough. Drew demanded that Nick Aldis make this right, saying there’s an injustice that Cody Rhodes is once again the Undisputed WWE Champion.

Aldis said that McIntyre doesn’t realize that he did this to himself, and the consequences of his actions have finally caught up to him. Once again, Drew demanded that Aldis fix this, with Jacob Fatu even joining in on the party, saying that McIntyre has relentlessly blamed everyone for his misfortunes. Now, he has someone to blame, as Jacob Fatu proudly exclaimed that he screwed Drew McIntyre.

When we thought that a physical confrontation was due for McIntyre and Fatu, Drew had other plans. Quite simply, Drew McIntyre quits WWE. He doesn’t want to do anything about it anymore, since he claims he knows that the system is against him.

WWE Universe, what a start to WWE SmackDown! When we thought we’d get a WrestleMania 42 match, it ended with Drew McIntyre quitting WWE on SmackDown.
