When it comes to professional wrestling vs football, Tom Brady and Logan Paul have publicly expressed vastly differing opinions on the subject. So much so, it’s led many to believe that Paul and Brady have been involved in a bit of work, one that ultimately ends with Tom Brady having some sort of appearance at WWE WrestleMania 42. That speculation has only intensified as Paul has stepped up to put his money where his mouth is. When it comes to a WWE ring, will Brady do the same?
Tom Brady Thinks Pro Wrestling is “Cute” but Not “Real Competition”
Tom Brady and Logan Paul are on a collision course, one that first began when it was announced both Brady and Paul would be taking part in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic. From there, Paul had Brady on his Impaulsive podcast, and that’s when the trash-talking began. Paul asserted to Brady that his athleticism was at the highest caliber, to which Brady disagreed, saying he was actually a little worried for Paul in the matchup. In fact, Brady went as far as to not just insult Paul but also insult the industry Paul now represents.
Brady acknowledged Paul was a good, not great, athlete, contesting his claim of being better than the professional football players he’d be sharing a field with at the event. Brady namedropped Justin Jefferson and Saquon Barkley to which Paul retorted, “Can Saquon Barkley do a flip off the top rope?” Clearly, Paul didn’t see Barkley’s backwards hurdle during the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl winning-season last year, something his co-host pointed out. But the heart of the matter came during Brady’s next sentence.
“It’s cute. I love WWE, it’s very cute. But honestly, this is like real football, this is real competition.” Brady continued to say that he was glad Paul finally would get to take part in a “competition that matters.” Ouch. Paul was clearly annoyed by what he called Brady’s “audacity,” but he wasn’t the only one.
Wrestlers Challenge Tom Brady to See How “Cute” WWE Really Is

Many in the WWE Universe likely would have supported Brady going after Paul, given fans’ own feelings about the YouTuber turned full-time WWE star, but to attack pro wrestling by saying it’s not “real competition” was a bridge too far for most.
On ESPN’s Get Up, Elimination Chamber winner Randy Orton thought Brady deserved an RKO for his comments, telling the hosts, “I did see a recent podcast Logan Paul put on, he had Tom Brady on, and Tom Brady had a few things to say about pro wrestling. I think he called it quote-unquote ‘cute.’ I’ve never met him, but I’d love to meet Tom and hit him with an RKO. I’d say he’d be at the top of the list.”
Additionally, several wrestlers were asked about Brady’s comments during the WWE 2K Creator Fest, including Oba Femi, who Brady should be glad he won’t be stepping in a ring with anytime soon. “Those who think it’s cute and fluffy, and it’s all sweet and stuff, you can come and try,” Femi said. “You can lace up some boots and then let’s watch you puke.” Tyler Breeze echoed the sentiment, saying he’d love to see Brady “step in and see what it actually is and how cute he thinks it is.” And of course, Paul Heyman had his own jab in defense of his Vision client, saying all Brady did was throw a football that someone else caught. According to Heyman, Bill Belichick and his girlfriend deserve more credit for the New England Patriots’ successes than Brady.
Logan Paul is Challenging NFL Players to Meet Him in the Boxing Ring
Brady doubled down on his feud with Paul, calling him a “b***h” during a training workout with former WWE 24/7 Champion and WrestleMania participant, Rob Gronkowski, by adding that Paul is lucky the flag football showdown won’t involve him getting hit.
Paul then fired the next salvo by continuing the beef on his podcast. After acknowledging that he was exaggerating for effect and that he believes most NFL stars are more athletic than WWE wrestlers, Paul still took a shot at Brady. “If you put me and Tom Brady up athletically in most sports, I bet I’d be more athletic,” Paul said. “He used the word ‘cute’ about WWE. In many ways, football is also cute. When it comes to durability and primal competition, combat sports are the ultimate level. I’m a boxer. You can put most NFL players in a ring, and real fighters would beat them.”
Turns out, Paul’s comments weren’t merely lip service as over the weekend, the former WWE United States Champion issued a $1M open challenge to any NFL player, past or present, who wanted to step in the boxing ring against him. So far, there is seemingly a fight contract out for former Pittsburgh Steelers runningback (and amateur boxer) Le’Veon Bell to face Paul, along with another in the works against former Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko. While details have been hammered out, it isn’t confirmed whether either fight will happen or if it will air. Still, Brady couldn’t resist reacting to the whole thing, questioning if this was all happening because of him.
Tom Brady at WrestleMania Reportedly in the Works Since Last Year

Wrestling fans should be wise to pay attention to what happens at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic on Saturday, March 21, and subsequently, Monday, March 23. Paul has threatened to throw hands at Brady in the non-contact event, all of which could lead to Brady deciding to throw hands at Paul inside a WWE ring. Now, it seems unlikely Tom Brady will wrestle a proper match against Logan Paul or anyone else, but could he get physical and maybe shove Paul around? That should definitely be in play. It wouldn’t be crazy at this point to imagine Brady deciding to attend WWE’s Show of Shows and confronting Paul at WrestleMania 42 on his home turf.
It seems quite likely at this point that Las Vegas Raiders part-owner Brady will have some sort of role at WrestleMania 42, something that has seemingly been talked about as far back as last year. In fact, heading into WrestleMania 41, also in Vegas, Brady teased an appearance while praising WWE saying, “It’s amazing what’s going on there, and it’s amazing what’s happening with WWE and all the different things surrounding that.” Prior to that, Cody Rhodes personally invited Brady to WrestleMania 39 noting on the Bump, “Tom Brady needs to maybe find his way to WrestleMania, maybe find his way anywhere WWE, Tom, live it up now. There might be a future here.”
It is being reported that WWE and Brady have had specific discussions about his appearance at WrestleMania 42 including merch and even nicknames such as “T-Bone” and “The Untouchable Tom Brady” being thrown around. WWE has had athletes in the ring before, but they’ve never had anyone of the caliber of Brady, the best football player of all-time. No matter if Brady shows up at WrestleMania as a special guest or if he gets physical with Paul in some capacity, his appearance will be monumental. And if WWE announces Brady will be at ‘Mania in advance, it might help move some of those tickets still lingering on the open market. Either way, this is definitely a feud worth following over the next few weeks.
