Last night, on TNA’s Thursday Night iMPACT, the results of the Feast or Fired briefcases were revealed. The Feast or Fired match is about huge rewards and a huge risk. Three cases contain title shots. One case has the pink slip to get fired. Trey Miguel started things off with an opportunity at the TNA International Title. Eddie Edwards had an opportunity for the TNA World Champion Title.
Eric Young had a chance at the X-Division Championship Title. And Steve Maclin got the Pink Slip, which meant that he had been fired. He stood there dumbfounded. Young goaded Maclin before walking away, saying that actions have consequences and laughing, while Maclin ignored a request for a response and just walked off in shocked silence.

Is Steve Maclin really fired?
Maclin left a short but meaningful message on social media, showing he was open for new bookings. His wife, former TNA Knockouts Deonna Purrazzo, also took to social media to “confirm” the end of Steve Maclin’s era in TNA Wrestling. This felt personal, and very possible that it could reflect a real-life exit.
Now, all eyes are on whether Maclin’s firing is just another plot twist or the start of a real-life exit from TNA Wrestling. Whether this is a swerve or a legit release, Steve Maclin’s tweet made one thing clear: he’s not thrilled, and he’s already putting the word out for bookings. The door might be closed in TNA, but that inbox is wide open.
What’s Next?
Maclin’s stock should be solid for potential employment in AEW or a return to the WWE. Maclin deserves a look from AEW, based on his abilities alone. His wife is already on the roster. Maclin was released from WWE in 2021. He was a part of a tag team with Wesley Blake as the Forgotten Sons. Maclin thrived as a singles wrestler during his time in TNA. He could be a valuable asset as a veteran presence in NXT or WWE.
Maclin has been with TNA since signing in 2021 following his departure from WWE. He held the TNA World Championship in 2023 and had two reigns as the TNA International Champion throughout last year. He had reportedly extended his deal with the promotion for an undisclosed amount of time, following the expiry of his contract in December. It was noted to be a short-term deal at the time.
