Winning the Royal Rumble match is one of the greatest accomplishments a WWE Superstar could achieve in their wrestling career. The winner is immortalized forever with his name etched in the history books. After all, the Rumble is the surest way to book your ticket for WrestleMania, as the winner is guaranteed a World Title shot.
The Men’s Rumble has persisted for nearly four decades. More often than not, WWE tends to get the winners right. For example, Drew McIntyre winning the 30-man melee in 2020 was a brilliant move that catapulted McIntyre’s career to great heights. More recently, Cody Rhodes outlasting 29 other men to win back-to-back Rumbles was also a good booking decision.
Nonetheless, WWE has facepalmed itself multiple times, too. There are several glaring instances when the creative team got the Men’s Royal Rumble winner wrong. In many of these cases, WWE might have quite a few regrets.
