This month marks the end of John Cena’s iconic WWE career. On December 13, Cena will face the winner of The Last Time Is Now Tournament in his farewell match. That means it will be the last time we hear Cena’s unforgettable My Time Is Now track, at least as a full-time performer. My Time Is Now is synonymous with John Cena, as The Champ has been using it since early 2005.

Before becoming a main eventer, Cena famously came out to Word Life during his run as The Doctor of Thuganomics. The song fit Cena’s rapper gimmick like a glove during that era. But that wasn’t Cena’s first entrance theme, as he used two other songs during his first year on the main roster. In this article, we’ll be ranking all of Cena’s entrance themes from worst to best. Enjoy!
Note: This article will only include entrance themes that Cena used individually. Thus, entrance themes such as The Nexus’ will not make it.
4. “Slam Smack”
- Used Between: June 2002-November 2002
- Titles Won With This Song: None
John Cena debuted on WWE’s main roster in June 2002. Cena stepped up to face Kurt Angle in what is considered one of the best debuts ever. Unfortunately for the future 17-time World Champion, that’s where the momentum stopped. Cena struggled to connect with fans as a directionless, happy-go-lucky babyface with no true identity. Coming out to a generic theme song week after week certainly didn’t help.
Looking back, John Cena’s first theme song is easily his weakest. You just can’t picture a Road Warrior pop once Slam Smack hits. Everything about the track screams “filler time”, and that’s exactly the role Cena played during his original babyface run. John Cena’s most forgettable entrance theme perfectly represents the most forgettable part of his entire career.
