All eyes will be on the blockbuster Survivor Series this weekend but after that, it’s back to business and Adam Pearce is already hard at work booking the first Raw of December, announcing there will be a WWE title match next Monday.
Will December be a New Day for Raw in WWE Title Match?
Pearce has a lot on his plate these days as talent relations have been…less than ideal. Pearce’s night began with Raquel Rodriguez in his office complaining about how Nikki Bella interfered in her title match only to be given a title match herself. Pearce agreed that it was unfair but Survivor Series was booked and the match was happening. He promised Rodriguez that she’d be in the conversation for future world title matches, which seemingly was acceptable for the most decorated women’s tag team champion of all-time. Pearce then dealt with the New Day, who have been a thorn in his side ever since they began mourning the loss of their beloved tag team championships.
New Day started complaining saying Pearce ruined everything before he shut them up with an announcement. Pearce said AJ Styles and Dragon Lee wanted to be fighting champions so next week, it would be the two of them in action against New Day for the titles. New Day seemed shocked at the WWE title match announcement so they made Pearce say the magic words, “it’s official.” Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods celebrated as Grayson Waller stuck around and put a wig on Pearce’s head. He was having none of it and told New Day’s stooge to get out.
New Day last held the titles in June, dropping them to largely non-fighting champions, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. Should the pair of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods win on the WWE title match on Monday, it will mark the 11th title reign (plus one in NXT) for the faction that just recently celebrated 10 years of being a group. In WWE terms, that makes New Day one of the longest factions of all-time and hands down the longest active faction on the roster.
