Live from his home crowd in Boston, Massachusetts, John Cena notched another historic accolade on this Monday’s WWE Raw. Paul “Triple H” Levesque would welcome the “Never Seen 17,” to his loving people, and as expected, the “Champ” got the applause of a lifetime Monday night, with “Thank you, Cena!” chants raining down from the rafters.
John Cena reiterated that WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th will be his last, but also, it will be a night of opportunity as he announced that the card will be rounded out with exhibition matches from the young upstarts from WWE NXT. Cena would thank everyone for a journey well worth it, before he got interrupted by Intercontinental Champion, Dominik Mysterio.
Mysterios had little to no respect for Cena, saying he could take him on “any time, any place, any era.” Of course, Cena took exception to this, challenging Dom to put his money where his mouth was. Unfortunately for Mysterio, the Chief Content Officer of WWE was in attendance that night, making it official right then and there. It’ll be “Dirty” Dom Mysterio vs. John Cena for the Intercontinental Title.
The bell rang, and the match was underway to begin WWE Monday Night Raw on a hot note. Mysterio would fight off Cena’s onslaught early in the match, taking the Legend to his absolute limit. On one occasion, Cena had the title won, with Dom tapping to an STF, but the referee was not able to see it after getting hit inadvertently.
Mysterio would capitalize on this, hitting a 619 on the 17-time world champion. Dominik was closing in for the kill with a Frog Splash, but got caught mid-air in vintage Cena fashion. John Cena would hit the Attitude Adjustment and pin the cocky Dominik Mysterio to become the #AndNEW Intercontinental Champion, making him a WWE Grand Slam Winner.
WWE Universe, John Cena has officially done it all in WWE, but it seems like he’s not done and will continue to fight with everything he’s got until his final bout at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th, 2025.

Congratulations to the “GOAT” John Cena, our new Intercontinental Champion!
