AEW’s annual Blood and Guts will take place on November 12th this year. Notably, this year will be different. For the first time since its inception, Blood and Guts will feature women instead of men. This is not only something fans have been begging for, but it comes at the perfect time. With the division rivalry between Jamie Hayter, Queen Aminata, The Triangle of Madness, and others, the match is the ideal stipulation to cap off this brutal feud.
So… What is Blood and Guts?
Blood and Guts is similar to WWE’s Wargames. However, there are some key differences. The Blood and Guts concept uses the original rules from Jim Crockett Promotions. WWE uses modified rules, which concern the cage itself and how the match is won.
The original cage is fully enclosed, whereas WWE’s cage is open at the top. Additionally, the original rules state that the match can only be won by submission or surrender. In WWE, the match can be won by pinfall, and if a wrestler exits the cage, they forfeit. Being outside the cage is allowed in AEW’s Blood and Guts.
Perfect Timing
This rendition of the event could not come at a more perfect time for AEW. With the recent introduction of the Women’s World Tag Team Championships, women frequently main eventing TV, and a roster with more depth, Blood and Guts is just icing on the cake.
Furthermore, it serves as a true alternative. WWE’s portrayal of women, as of late, has been under fire, mainly due to the 2026 Royal Rumble, WrestleMania 43, and Brock Lesnar’s return.
Opinions vary from fan to fan, but most fans agree WWE has not been treating its women like they should as of late. Furthermore, one of the main critiques of WWE’s Women’s Division is that almost all of their stories are title-centered. Title-centered stories aren’t inherently bad, but they’re too repetitive—too much of the same bickering between champion and challenger.
AEW Blood and Guts this year will end a personal, lengthy, and brutal rivalry. There are no titles attached, which is precisely what AEW needs to add fuel to the fire that is their current Women’s Division.
The Match
Jamie Hayter first laid down the challenge after the main event of the September 27th, 2025 issue of Collision. In the main event, Hayter defeated Julia Hart, before Hart’s stablemates attacked Hayter. After some help from Queen Aminata, Hayter stood tall and laid down the challenge.

As stated, the match will take place on November 12th, 2025. The current competitors announced are Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata, taking on the Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue). Blood and Guts traditionally has five competitors for each team, so there’s still a little less than a month to fill in those spots. Some popular early predictions see Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne joining the Triangle of Madness, and Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, and Harley Cameron join forces with Hayter and Aminata.
