WWE SmackDown Results (10/3/25):

  • Ahead of his showdown with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes kicks off SmackDown to speak to the WWE Universe. Immediately upon entering the ring, Cody asked the Ohio crowd, “What do they want to talk about?” before getting interrupted by the “Oracle” Paul Heyman, backed by The Vision. When we thought Rhodes was outmanned, Randy Orton would slither into the ring to stand by his side. Heyman did what he did best: stir the pot and cause uncertainty between Rhodes and Orton, saying that both men may not have each other’s back like they think, and in the main event, that uncertainty will cause their downfall to The Vision.
  • To start the action off, Sami Zayn defends the United States Title in a “U.S. Open Challenge.” Surprisingly, Carmelo Hayes would once again step up to the plate, after losing his opportunity a few weeks ago, saying this time it’s “different,” since his mind is now focused after getting “bad advice” over the last few months, referring to The Miz. Speak of the devil, Miz took exception to that and hit the Skull-Crushing Finale on Hayes atop the stage. Aleister Black would enter the arena, essentially stepping over Hayes, stating that he’ll take the opportunity if no one wants it, setting up this exciting match-up. Zayn and Black had a slugfest for the ages, battering each other with strikes and brawling throughout the match. Black almost had Zayn beat, coming in half a second from becoming U.S. Champion. Aleister would get distracted as Damian Priest would appear ringside. Zayn would capitalize on the interference, hitting Black with a Helluva Kick, then a Blue Thunder Bomb to retain the title. After the match, Priest added insult to injury, executing a Razor’s Edge on Black through the announce table.
  • Backstage, we see NXT stars Sol Ruca and Zaria speaking to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, talking about a potential shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship earlier that day. Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre would interrupt, stating they need to “audition.” Ruca and Zaria didn’t think it was necessary, but if she insisted, they could settle in the ring in a tag match, leading to Green and Alba Fyre taking on the NXT duo. The Green Regime took control of the match early on, letting their experience guide them. Unfortunately, they get overconfident. Zaria would take out an Alba Fyre on the outside, distracting Chelsea Green, leading to an impressive Sol Snatcher from Ruca to pin the former Women’s United States Champion, notching the win for her team.
  • In the back, we see Cathy Kelley speak to the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, asking for their thoughts on their potential challengers, Ruca and Zaria. The pair said that they were impressed, and the NXT stars should be ready when the time comes.
  • We see Women’s World Champion “La Primera” Stephanie Vaquer make her way to the ring as she and WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton make it official for WWE Crown Jewel Perth. After signing the contract, both women had great words for one another. However, both women made it explicitly clear that they want to become WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Champion, and they would do whatever it takes to get that. Both women showed a great deal of respect for one another. Stratton would exit the ring, only to get attacked by Kiana James and Women’s United States Champion Giulia. James made a business proposal to Vaquer, trying to convince her to align with her and Giulia, offering unimaginable perks to La Primera. Before James could go further, Stratton would take out James, as Giulia and Vaquer would get into it. Both women’s champions would run them both off.
  • Je’Von Evans and Rey Fenix take on Los Garza in an exciting high-flying affair. It was a “blink and you’ll miss it” match, with Je’Von Evans and Rey Fenix impressing with their high-octane offense. To Los Garza’s credit, they held their own. However, the rapid onslaught of Evand Fenix was too much to handle for Angel and Berto. Angel would try to take out Fenix, but Evans made the save, hitting him with an OG Cutter. Fenix followed it up with an MMB on Berto for the pinfall victory.
  • To end the night, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring, as he and “The Viper” Randy Orton take on The Vision in a star-studded tag team main event. Rhodes and Orton taught The Vision a valuable lesson tonight, showcasing their command of the ring. With Rhodes taken out by Breakker with a Spear through the barricade, Orton executed a Superplex on Reed, covering him. Reed would kick out. Randy Orton would prepare to hit Reed with the three deadliest letters in WWE. But before Orton could hit the RKO, Seth Rollins would hit Orton with a Stomp behind the referee’s back, allowing Reed to hit the Tsunami for the pinfall victory. After the match, Heyman would plead with Rollins not to go back, but Seth did not heed the Oracle’s word, attempting to stomp Rhodes’ head in. Rollins got more than he bargained for, eating Cross Rhodes from Cody to end the night.

That’s all for REAL-TIME WWE SmackDown results for October 3, 2025, as they happened LIVE from Cincinnati, Ohio.
