With John Cena’s retirement tour coming to an end soon, there are only a few matches that Cena can still have. Last Saturday at WrestlePalooza, Cena suffered a heartbreaking loss to Brock Lesnar. Throughout Cena’s entire career, he has always taken a fall to Lesnar, facing multiple defeats from him. Some fans believe there won’t be another match, while others hold onto hope for a rematch.
If anything, WWE should have Cena and Lesnar go at it again. For Cena and Lesnar to have a possible rematch, it should take place at one of WWE’s biggest Premium Live Events, Survivor Series: WarGames. Although that event is two months from now, WWE can still create a story revolving around Cena’s tough beating. The next event WWE has is Crown Jewel. With Cena scheduled to appear at the event, he could have another historic matchup with a past rival in the meantime.
John Cena vs. AJ Styles at Crown Jewel?
One name in particular who should face John Cena at Crown Jewel is AJ Styles. Currently, Styles is in a program allied with Dragon Lee against the numerous El Grande Americanos. Next week on RAW, Styles could challenge Cena to a match at Crown Jewel. Cena doesn’t seem opposed to facing AJ either, as both men have been vocal about it on X. The match got later confirmed by Triple H to take place at Crown Jewel.

This said, the match can help Cena regain his momentum by picking up the victory. The chances of Cena beating Styles could give him hope to fight Lesnar one last time. Cena could call out Lesnar at Crown Jewel, leading to Lesnar delivering Cena an F5 to set the rematch.
John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series?
For November, John Cena is scheduled for two RAW dates before Survivor Series. Maybe in those two episodes, WWE can involve both Cena and Lesnar in the show. Due to the story possibly staying the same, WWE can add some spice to it.
If there is something the WWE Universe knows about Lesnar, it’s that no one is safe around him. For instance, Lesnar would target announcers and even referees. With this statement, WWE can assign a referee whom Lesnar won’t easily destroy. WWE should appoint Randy Orton as the special guest referee.
Orton would be a great fit as he’s had history with both Cena and Lesnar. It would be a full circle moment as these three men started their careers together. From there, Cena can get his redemption by finally overcoming “The Beast”. Although Cena defeated Lesnar before, it’s more about proving he’s more dominant.
