Vaquer Is Eying her first main roster title

WWE Women’s World Title Match Should Feature Stephanie Vaquer & IYO SKY

At WWE Evolution, Stephanie Vaquer won a battle royal to determine who would challenge for the Women’s World Title at Clash in Paris. WWE scrapped that match because the previous champion, Naomi, took a leave of absence for her real-life pregnancy. Last Monday on RAW, Vaquer was informed by General Manager Adam Pearce that she would still receive her championship match against an opponent yet to be revealed, and we believe it should be IYO SKY.

IYO SKY’s Championship Pursuit while Maintaining Friends

If there is someone who should face Vaquer for the vacant Women’s World Title, it’s IYO SKY. SKY was the one who lost the title to Naomi in the first place, which gives her the right to a one-on-one rematch. Both women have had an incredible year, with IYO SKY putting on classic after classic against Rhea Ripley, as well as a an all-time Triple Threat Match at WWE WrestleMania 41 to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.

Simultaneously, Vaquer had a stellar rookie campaign, securing the NXT Women’s North American Title, and later winning the NXT Women’s Championship from Giulia, becoming the first-ever female double champion in NXT history.

Every time IYO and Stephanie went against each other, they never failed to deliver. The only thing is that there has never been a definite winner. In this situation, the best way to declare a winner is to put a championship on the line.

WWE has a lot of stories it can add to this possible match. If IYO becomes the opponent for Stephanie, WWE can mix IYO’s story with The Kabuki Warriors and the Women’s World Championship. Last Monday on RAW, Iyo made peace with Rhea Ripley backstage, frustrating her longtime friend, Asuka, who grew jealous of Rhea.

This drama can cause Iyo to lose, and Stephanie would become champion. It would bring more fuel to Iyo and Stephanie due to their having a match that never ends convincingly. If this type of outcome were to happen, it would set up a rematch between the two formidable wrestlers down the line. It also gives Stephanie a test to see if she can succeed as Women’s World Champion in the WWE.
