On June 7th, 2025, WWE will hold Money in the Bank at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The first qualifying matches took place on the May 16th episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Alexa Bliss beat Chelsea Green and Michin to become the first qualifier for the women’s division. Solo Sikoa beat Jimmy Uso and Rey Fenix to become the first qualifier for the men. Sikoa becoming the first man to win a spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match is very interesting.
For the past couple of weeks, there has been tension between him and Jacob Fatu. Bringing in JC Mateo at WrestleMania: Backlash only intensified that rivalry. Depending on what happens at Money in the Bank, the relationship can either be saved or torn apart. Adding Solo Sikoa to the match was a brilliant idea that will directly impact his plans.
Solo Sikoa Losing Would Severely Disappoint Jacob Fatu
Even though things don’t seem cordial between the two men, Jacob Fatu has to be happy for Solo Sikoa. He has a chance to bring more gold to the Bloodline if he wins the Money in the Bank ladder match.
Holding the United States Championship is already something he is proud of. Seeing his cousin with gold alongside him could reignite the spark that is needed for the group to get back on top.
Even though there is a chance Sikoa could challenge for his title if he wins, the joy he’ll feel will overshadow all the negative possibilities. That’s why the bond could be broken if he loses.
He’s already mad at him for going behind his back to bring in more muscle without permission. Not capitalizing on a huge chance for the group could mean the end of Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa’s partnership.
Winning Could Present an Interesting Dilemma
So far, Solo Sikoa hasn’t won a championship on the main roster. If he wins the Money in the Bank briefcase, his journey to gold would become a lot easier. However, tension with Jacob Fatu presents an interesting situation if he were to win. Fatu is the current United States champion, and he’s allowed to cash in the briefcase on him.
If tensions keep rising, there would definitely be a legitimate claim for him to do that. But that would mean not cashing in on Jey Uso, John Cena, or someone else if they win in the next year. If things were going well within the Bloodline, a win for him would guarantee at least a chance of the group’s gold count going up.
But Jacob Fatu could make Solo Sikoa’s decision a tough one if he were to win due to their hostile relationship with each other.
Sikoa’s Qualification Could Mend the Broken Bond
Solo Sikoa is going on a career-changing path, whether he wins or loses. Either Jacob Fatu is going to be angry, or he’ll hold the briefcase with Fatu, a current champion, on his nerves.
Whatever happens will result in tension if things don’t get patched up quickly. But what if things are already looking up? Sikoa had to defeat Jimmy Uso and Rey Fenix, two amazing wrestlers, to even qualify for Money in the Bank. He didn’t let his current squabbles distract him from the goal of obtaining a championship.
By focusing on the task at hand, he booked his ticket to the Intuit Dome for a potential championship opportunity. He stepped up and succeeded, something that will likely please Fatu. Solo Sikoa could already be mending his relationship with Jacob Fatu by qualifying for the Money in the Bank ladder match.
