On WWE SmackDown, six teams battled it out in a grueling Gauntlet Tag Team Match to call their shots for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 41.
It was a star-studded affair involving duos such as Katana Chance and Kayden Carter, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark, B-Fab and Michin, Alba Fyre and Piper Niven, and the unlikely duo of Natalya and Maxxine Dupri. All six teams went at it, giving it their all to book their tickets to the “Showcase of the Immortals.”
Once the dust settled, Bayley and Lyra Valkria came out on top, outlasting five other talented teams. Valkyria and Bayley entered the match as the first competitors, going the distance and enduring this chaotic test of willpower. However, it wasn’t that easy. In their way were Piper Niven and Alba Fyre.
The last entrants into this gauntlet came within an inch of securing the number one contendership for themselves. Unfortunately, after a devastating Rose Plant and Guillotine Leg Drop on Alba Fyre, it was all over for the Green Regime.
Bayley and the Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria have a shot at greatness as they go against the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez at WWE WrestleMania 41.
These types of opportunities only come once in a blue moon. So, Valkyria and Bayley should step up their game come WrestleMania 41; we all know Morgan and Rodriguez will.
