Well, it’s official. After weeks of vignettes pointing to a luchador who looked like Rey Fenix and moved like Rey Fenix, WWE revealed it was indeed Rey Fenix. There was no point to keep the world’s worst-kept secret hidden any longer as ever since Fenix received his AEW release, it was only a matter of time. That time has come and it’s been announced that Fenix will make his SmackDown and WWE debut next Friday.
Who is Rey Fenix?
One of the most well-known and top luchadors in professional wrestling right now, Rey Fenix is an absolute star. After starting his career alongside his brother Penta in Mexico, Fenix has traveled the world, notably wrestling for major companies including AEW, TNA, MLW, and Lucha Underground among others. He’s won all kinds of titles, including tag titles with Penta at most major promotions. Together, the two are known as the Lucha Bros.
For now however, it seems Penta will continue his Intercontinental Championship chase on Raw while Fenix begins to wow the WWE Universe on SmackDown.
