Is it Saturday yet? AEW Collision in 2025 is being booked not just for the sickos, but we nonetheless enjoy the spoils.
There’s been a change of emphasis, pace, and importance. AEW Collision is no longer the B show. Even when faced with competition from WWE, sports, or other cultural events, the cards and shows are sustaining thriller over filler.
Destination TV is being made with the triple threat of big matches, storylines (starts, beats, developments), and moments. Like Dynamite, Collision is becoming a consistent hub for huge moments.
Like Dynamite this week, only three matches have been announced so far. Plus, one potentially huge segment.
Fallout from the trios match on Dynamite will see a hard-to-call TNT championship match and a tag team match that could be a capital B banger. Both matches could steal the show.
What about other surprises? Max Caster’s Open Challenge? Follow up from Gabe Kidd or the return of his War Dog faction mate Clark Connors? “Speedball” Mike Bailey? What about women’s division follow-up from Mariah May and more?
Saturday night is more than alright for fighting.

Konosuke Takeshita’s championship defence against the valiant Orange Cassidy on Wednesday night sent a powerful message to Kenny Omega. What will “The God of Pro Wrestling” say about his AEW Revolution opponent? With words, can Kenny Omega equal the statement made by Takeshita?
Since Omega’s return, fans have been treated to a version of “The Best Bout Machine” that many wanted after his previous return from injury in 2022. Not dissatisfaction led to a supposedly very putrid year.
Omega has stated in the ring and on the microphone that his focus is on making up for lost time. This is a version of Omega that fans want.
Two Dynamites ago, we saw Omega holding the AEW International Championship. That belt looked good in his hands. The Cleaner’s facial expressions showed agreement.
It feels like forever since Omega held singles gold. On Saturday night, Omega needs to make us believe that this match is more than about revenge against Don Callis. It’s about getting revenge on an alpha who beat him twice in one week.
An alpha who presents himself as Omega’s successor. Omega needs to convince us he wants that International Championship. Or will The Family have bad intentions?
TNT Championship, Bay Bay
Foreshadowed weeks ago, the road to this singles match has meandered. Still, the prospect of Daniel Garcia taking on Adam Cole is a huge test on paper.
Beyond imperfect booking with no explicit storyline beyond the championship framework, there are two wider overarching aspects of character development. First, Garcia’s determination to prove himself as a future wrestling legend. Also, regarding the meta-story, can Adam Cole, the former multiple-time ROH and NXT champion, still go in a singles capacity?
In 2025, Cole has excelled in trios and multi-man action. Cole has felt rehabilitated. Especially after his 2024 return and singles run.
Cole’s jaundiced-tinted spray tan is an apt metaphor for the glaring storyline issues. No longer hampered by two years dancing with the Devil, is Cole still undisputed?
This is Garcia’s toughest defense yet. Like the best AEW matches, the outcome is not necessarily clear. Cole could snatch the title.
In losing, where can Cole and The Undisputed Era go? The same question is true for Garcia. There are stakes.
Fans waiting for a defining TNT championship defence for Garcia could witness it Saturday.
