Former AEW Star Ricky Starks Makes Debut on WWE NXT

Former AEW Star Ricky Starks Makes Debut on WWE NXT

Ricky Starks is now officially a WWE NXT Superstar!

It was confirmed by PWInsider that Ricky Starks had been released by AEW on February 10. The turnaround was a quick one, as he then appeared on the February 11 edition of WWE NXT. With his debut done, Ricky Starks is now a WWE Superstar.

The February 11 edition of WWE NXT served as the Vengeance Day PLE go-home show, and it was a loaded one. In addition to all that the show had to offer, Starks made a surprise appearance right before the steel cage match main event between Tony D’Angelo and Ridge Holland.

Starks appeared in the crowd with a microphone, and he immediately introduced himself to NXT fans who might not be familiar with him with a promo. The promo was short and sweet but highly effective. With this appearance, it appears that Starks will be an NXT Superstar.

Ricky Starks From AEW to WWE

Ricky Starks had his final AEW match on the March 30, 2024 edition of Collision. On that show, Starks and his tag team partner, Big Bill, would be defeated by Top Flight’s Dante Martin and Darius Martin. In early February 2025, Starks’ profile was removed from the AEW official website before it was confirmed that he had been released.

Starks made his professional debut in 2012 but is most notable for his run in AEW between 2020 and 2025. Within that promotion, Starks won the AEW World Tag Team Championship (alongside Big Bill), the Men’s Owen Hart Cup in 2023, and the FTW Championship.

Starks’ NXT debut happens on the same week as the upcoming Vengeance Day PLE. Whether Starks will play a role on that card remains to be seen.
