Preview: WWE Raw (8/26/24) Uncle Howdy vs. Chad Gable

WWE Raw will feature the in-ring return of Uncle Howdy and the start of the Intercontinental Championship tournament on the final flagship show before Bash In Berlin. WWE Raw occurs at the Amica Mutal Pavillion in Providence, Rhode Island.

The show will air live on the USA Network at 8/7c. Here’s our full preview of WWE Raw.

WWE Raw Match Card (8/26/24)

  • Uncle Howdy vs. Chad Gable
  • “Big” Bronson Reed vs. Braun Strowman
  • Intercontinental Championship No.1 Contender Tournament

Uncle Howdy Makes In-Ring Return

I guess either Uncle Howdy or Chad Gable has a phobia of bierkellers, bratwurst, or underground leather clubs. Because, instead of this PLE-quality match happening at Bash In Berlin on Saturday, it’s taking place on WWE Raw.

It will be interesting to see how Uncle Howdy performs between the ropes in his anticipated return to the ring. His faction (The “Wyatt Sicks”) – created in memory of his brother Bray Wyatt – has been fresh, varied, and exciting in the ring.

Will he match that? Can Gable overcome his fear of Howdy to compete?

Find out on an emotional WWE Raw which comes almost a year to the day Bray Wyatt passed away.

Rest Of The Card

A tournament will kick off to decide who will challenge WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker for his title. There’s an argument to say getting run into at 23MPH by Breakker isn’t much of a reward for whoever wins the tournament.

So far, we only know Jey Uso is in the tournament. WWE might want to reinforce the ring ahead of “Big” Bronson Reed wrestling the even bigger-than-big Braun Strowman.

Reed has made a habit of hitting multiple Tsunamis on his fallen opponents – much to the delight of the audience. But surely there’s only so many times the 330-pound Reed can throw himself onto the 385-pound Strowman before they create a hole in the center of the Earth.

Anything Else?

Loads. WWE Raw superstars competing at Bash In Berlin will look to gain momentum over their opponents. SmackDown superstar Randy Orton will want to hit Gunther ‘outta nowhere’ on WWE Raw ahead of facing him at the German PLE.

But the World Heavyweight Champion is already enjoying himself in Germany.

Rhea Ripley and Damien Priest will jostle for the upper hand over Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan ahead of their mixed tag match at the weekend. Surely, both CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will want to whip the other ahead of their strap match at Bash In Berlin.
