According to The Sporting News, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) are planning a huge stadium show in Australia for 2025. This would mark the first time the promotion brings its brand of wrestling down under, and it’s shaping up to be a can’t-miss event.

TSN cited sources telling them that AEW has ‘already started scouting venues’ along Australia’s east coast, with Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium all in the mix. Entertainment giant TEG is rumored to be backing the event, adding even more weight to the possibility of a major show, with TSN stating that plans are ‘well advanced’.

The promotion boasts a huge talent pool including a whole host of Australian talent who could appear on the show. Aussie fans will be especially hyped about the possibility of seeing homegrown talent like tag team Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher), Buddy Matthews, Toni Storm, and even New Zealand international Jay White wrestle live.

The move to Australia follows AEW’s massive success at Wembley Stadium, where over 80,000 fans packed the venue for a historic show. The buzz around the upcoming All In event at Wembley later this month only adds to the anticipation and belief that AEW have the ability to sell out a stadium in the right circumstances.

AEW’s weekly shows, AEW Dynamite and AEW Rampage, have been airing on ESPN in the region since early 2023, but the 2025 show would be AEW’s first live event in Australia. Given the success of WWE’s recent events in the country, like Elimination Chamber in Perth, it’s clear Aussie wrestling fans are ready to support major wrestling shows coming to the country.

While the exact date hasn’t been locked in, AEW’s 2025 calendar has room to make this happen. With Wrestle Dynasty set to kick off the year at the Tokyo Dome on January 5, an official announcement about the Australian event is ‘expected soon’.
